ute_fan Posted April 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2012 When we went to Alaska the first time, my aunt recommended a couple of the mystery series set in Alaska. Dana Stabenow writes a series with Kate Shugak as the main character. Sue Henry has two different series -- one with Jessie Arnold, who's a sled dog racer, and the other with Maxine McNab who's a widow that travels in her RV. I've read all of the books by both authors :o. Any other book recommendations? Looking for new things to put on my Kindle before we cruise in May. slider728 Posted April 3, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I don't recall any books set in Alaska. As far as movies: Mystery, Alaska was about a hockey team in a fictitious Alaska town. The Simpsons Movie had part of it set in Alaska. The plot of the film White Fang was set in the Yukon, but it was actually filmed in the Skagway/Haines, Alaska area. Can't think of anymore off of the top of my head
