Cutting back

I know all the cruise lines have been cutting back on "stuff" due to the economy, but last time I was in the Caribbean, getting back on the ship after a hot and sandy trip to the beach, they were handing out icy cold washcloths to cool you down when you reboarded. Do they still do that?

They did it on our Hawaii trip in April on Sapphire. Kind of nice actually.

They did that when we were in St Maarten last Nov. We were docked next to a RC ship and all of their passengers stared in envy as we refreshed ourselves with these ice cold towels before boarding back onto the ship. One of the officers from the RC ship walked over and took photos.

We got them in Asia and Africa in April and May on the Ocean Princess

I was so looking forward to it on last years cruise, but sadly the day I was especially looking for it- there were none left...the earlier you return- the better your chances...

They did not do this on the Ruby in December, but then again, it was not that hot...:)

Did it for us on the Grand in March. Hot on the islands.

I asked about it, it's completely condition based. Not sure what the temp target is, but if it is above that about 2 hours before departure they will bring them out.

HAHA!!! I was thinking the same about the foot warmers or at least a a hot blanket to cover you in like in the hospital. :p

 

But I can see doing the cool towels in hot weather.

Ruby this past March - yes, although weather dependent. It was raining in St Thomas when we re-boarded so nothing cold and wet waiting for us there but we could have used a dry one!

Don't remember seeing them on the Ruby on the T/A last October. Course The weather wasn't the best so there wasn't much need for them.....:):):)

The refreshing wash cloths were present on our Emerald Princess cruise in March/April this year - Southern Caribbean
