Back to Back incentives?

Does Carnival offer incentives to encourage back to back cruises? If they don't they should especially when airlines are increasing fares...

Im not sure I understand your logic .. since airlines are charging more .. carnival should charge less.. why? I dont get it myself.

You are saving by booking the B2B, making your own incentive .. you only have to fly once for 2 cruises. So, this is the incentive right? You also save .. only have to get one hotel precruise. Save a shuttle one way with the B2B .. and on and on why its such a savings to do B2Bs.

The hotel director usually gives you a gift the 2nd leg. I got champagne and a fruit basket on conquest and chocolate covered stawberries on shorter triumph B2B.

I think many cruisers do not think about the self incentive of doing back to backs. If pointed out by the cruse lines and with a incentive they would book more back to backs. When air line prices increase some people may not cruise due to the added expense. Not the cruise lines fault but a problem to be considered by them...

My incentive is to have travel expense once for 2 cruises rather than twice.

That and a longer cruise. I'm combining a 5 day and 7 day.

I'm hoping the casino will let me carry over my points from Leg 1 to Leg 2, but if they don't, then I'll just start over!

Given that the fares are approximately the same as they were five years ago (on the cruises I take and the cheapo cabins), I don't think extra incentives are necessary.

What I think WOULD be nice would be if they allowed you to just book it as one cruise. You'd then get the higher OBC for the FCC (if you only have one) and maybe the shareholder credit.

I know HAL offers some Eastern/Western itineraries as single 14-day cruises. I mean, how difficult can it be?

Besides any of thosse mentioned above, the incentive for me is getting to stay on the ship and watching everyone else having to go back to their cabins on the last night of the first cruise to pack. I LOVE going down the hall on the last night and seeing EVERYONE ELSE'S luggage setting out for pickup. Also, I love going to breakfast on turn-around morning without having to worry about trailing my luggage around behind me.

In short, I LOVE B2B cruises! :D

Ditto. Looking forward to our 2nd B2B in January. Loved the one we did in 2008.

YES, I agree 100%!! :D I did my 1st B2B on the Dream in December/January and that was the best view and feeling in the world (seeing everyones luggage sitting in the hall the last night of the 1st cruise)!! :D I've been saying ever since, at the end of cruise#1, that was the best last day of a cruise I've ever had, haha!!!! :D Of course, I still managed to trip over someone's suitcase that last night but I seem to be able to accomplish that at least once a cruise wether I'm getting off or not!!!! :o I still noticed the "downer" feeling/atmosphere/emotion around the ship that last day but it sure helped knowing that I wasn't getting off the next day!!!! :D

I love B2Bs as well, so much so that I'm doing another one with my boyfriend on the Imagination in December 2013, can't wait!!!! :D

I have never booked a B2B but am curious. I was under the impression that you had to leave the cruise ship in between the cruises. Can you stay on board? Do you have to pack all of your things? Or .. can they stay in your room, of course, if you have the same room booked on both cruises?

Any other cool points for B2B cruising? Intriqued!:D

from what i have been told you do have to leave the ship, but you are escorted off, then to customs and then you can go right back on the ship. They have to completley clear the ship of passengers. Then you get to enjoy the ship for a couple hours before the new passengers board.

We will be having the same cabin so we can leave our stuff in our room, if you have a different cabin you pack up your stuff and the room steward will bring it to your new cabin for you.

We've only done a B2B on NCL (our first carnival B2B is coming up in April) but that was how it was done. We were only off for an hour or so, but it would have been much quicker had they not had to track down some B2B folks who thought they didn't have to leave the ship lol.

We were back on and in the hot tub before the new passengers even set foot on board. It was great to sit there and watch everyone lug around their carry-ons til their cabins were ready :)

one other perk... being greeted by the staff with huge smiles and hugs when they recognise you from the week before! They were so happy to see a familiar face :)

I agree! I just did a B2B on the Miracle in April...and my incentive was 16 days at sea! :D!

Since I live in the middle of the country and flights have gotton so expensive I try to do longer cruises. My next one is 15 days. Also I prefer to have the same shipmates for the whole cruise rather than do a BB.

Remember -- This is the Carnival board. There are few options on Carnival for longer cruises without going B2B. We prefer the longer ones also -- almost all of our cruises have been 10 days or more with many 14 days +.

But, that turn-around day on a B2B is really a lot of fun :D

We look forward to meeting you in on-board in April. :)
