Funship Dollars?

I know Carnival has Funship dollars you can buy. Does RCI have anything like that? :)

I haven't seen anything like that. I have seen being able to buy chips at a discount for the casino, but, nothing beyond that.

Please elaborate about buying chips at a discount. I've never heard of this.

what do you use fun ship dollars for? not that i see myself back on carnival, but can't imagine what it would be for

Is this anything like the ShipShape dollars that RCCL used to give out years ago for participating in their exercise programs/classes?

Years ago RCI used to have Ship Shape Dollars that you would receive for doing activities and then you could cash them in for swag at the end of the cruise. No more:(

They are kind of like gift certificates. Friends and family can buy them for you and you can use them as OBC or towards another cruise. Or you can by one a month or so to build up your OBC for people who are not good at saving for a cruise. I think they come in $25, $100, $500 or something like that. Some people give them for holiday gifts or wedding presents if they know people are cruising.

I had quite a few of my family members go on a cruise and I bought funship dollars for them as B'day, Xmas gifts (which they very much were happy to receive). Come cruise time, they had a nice amount added to their onboard account. Sure helped me to decide on what gifts to give them that year. :)

You can purchase $$ gift certificates from rcl's website. Our kids give us those for birthdays, holidays, etc. I think they can be any amount $25 and up.

Several times they have offered packages of chips...I don't recall the exact amounts, something like 25 bucks buys 50 bucks worth of chips. They have a different color, so you can only use them in the casino, you can't cash them in.

You can also just purchase Onboard Credit for yourself or friends...it is a little easier than the gift certificates because they have to be redeemed before sailing...some people don't realize that & try to use them onboard, and then find out they cannot....
