Wine & spirits & HAL

I saw an old thread about bring wine aboard for consumption in your cabin (corkage fees if brought to the dining room, of course). Can one bring beer or other spirits aboard for consumption in your cabin?

Per the HAL website, Soda, water and Wine can be brought aboard in unlimited quantities, but not Beer or Hard Liquor.

We have heard and seen people bring beer aboard, but have had it confiscated as well

A search on "beer" brings up many recent threads discussing it. :D

I have seen guests bring different brands of soda, water, wines and champagnes, specialty beers and unique label alcohol blends/flavors what ever you want to call them.

Now is it permissible to do this? I do not know for sure. Other than wine, water and soft drink I would guess no.

... also no wine over 20% alc considered booze like some ports. In Spain I saw them reject some wines with too much Alc level
I would protest that VERY loudly. Port is wine, and nowhere have I ever seen the 20% figure you cite stated in HAL information. Where did you get that number?

We brought port on board last year and the year before and there was no problem. (it wasn't a concern as it was to go home, not to drink in the cabin). Not sure where the 20% figure comes from either. We have also brought the famous sherry on with no issues:)

I did ask a couple of years ago on board and I was told there was no problem if it was just a bottle or two:)

Does the indulgences have a tab, or location? I need to add my new booking number to the HAL site, so maybe after that?

The prices are much better than Carnival. They went crazy on the last price increase. The citron vodka is $60.00 for the same size bottle.

First you must login on HAL's site.

Then go to the area "Before You Go". Click onto that and then click on "My Account".

Once that page pops up -- go to "My Reservations" -- click onto that.

Your reservation will pop up. You will see your itinerary -- go to "Purchases" -- move down to "Indulgences" and click on that.

If you just booked a cruise -- it will be a few days before you see your reservation.

If you are sailing to suitable ports you can also bring unlimited wine for stateroom consumption onboard at any port of call. It's also worth mentioning that as stated above the spirits prices are VERY reasonably priced by the bottle onboard via room service as well as pre-booking online.
