The Navigator on the far left of the screen and then an Carnival ship which I assume is the Magic but what is the ship to the far right? Cindy Posted March 25, 2014 #1736 Share Posted March 25, 2014 So sorry for all of you on the Navigator...I had hoped you would be able to get out.:( This stinks -- for the cruisers, for the island, for the wonderful people of Galveston...

Spurschick Posted March 25, 2014 #1738 Share Posted March 25, 2014 My cousin said they can stay on until Sunday. He said he will try to get a a earlier flight home. That's helpful if having travel issues to get home. Do they still get the refund and FCC:confused: I suppose in a way it's kind of a cheap holiday if you stay onboard. Food and board wise, but doesn't come close to making up for the disappointment of not sailing. I don't know what sort of entertainment they would still have? If casino could open I guess I may be tempted:D From RC perspective I assume they have plenty of food on board to feed people that needs to be used up. Not sure though how the staff would take it. Technically they would miss out on gratuities as would be refunded. However they have still had to work mince Sunday so I hope RC makes good their loss of income. I was looking forward to hopefully watching you all sail away. I assume in particular the princess ship would be in the same boat by now. If NoS is cancelled I'd be surprised if the others get out of port.

So I got a question that I beleive has not been asked or talked about but with oil spill*it been explained to me that All drinking water is either distilled from seawater or loaded onboard while the ship is in port. So I would hope that the ship is receiving water from shore and not distilled from salt water while in a port with oil? I would assume from shore but any staff or crew said otherwise? Some countries distill drinking water out of used toilet water. They're starting that in the US also. I'm pretty sure Las Vegas does and with the droughts it won't be long before other cities are as well. So a little oil won't matter. Probably wouldn't even get through a filter much less distiller. megr1125 Posted March 25, 2014 #1747 Share Posted March 25, 2014 Via FB and twitter..direct from Royal Caribbean Due to the oil spill and the associated response efforts in the Port of Galveston, the March 23 sailing of Navigator of the Seas has been canceled. Guests on this sailing will be refunded in full, will have the option to book a future cruise at a 25% discount, and may remain onboard until March 30 or disembark at their own discretion. Our sincerest apologies. of course, they've been lambasted all over social media for the last 24 hours...they finally decide to USE it to update people..... At Sea 4Ever Posted March 25, 2014 #1749 Share Posted March 25, 2014 Cruise cancelled. 100 percent refund plus 25 percent on a future cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk So sorry to those onboard about your cruise being cancelled! It stinks to have all your planning and anticipation taken away. I've heard royal is allowing passengers to stay on the full length of the cruise till Sunday. Is the ship still running like a normal cruise as far as entertainment, activities and dining room? Are the pools and bars open? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Girr Posted March 25, 2014 #1750 Share Posted March 25, 2014 It's official-the cruise is cancelled,25% creditor next cruise, and can stay free until the 30th. It's a shame, but at this point it's what I was looking for. Just the waiting has been a drag. A cruise would have been great, but at this point I'm just done. All in all I feel RCIs offer is very generous. We're electing to leave in the morning (would have left tonight but vehicle parking lots are closed until 7am). I really feel for the crew-we can all well imagine that since this started they've been working nonstop. Yet, they're the same wonderful staff. I hope people leave generous tips as we leave.
