lisiamc Posted January 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Your cruise sounds great - a really nice selection of ports! I know for sure that docking facilities are available at these ports: Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Puerto Montt and Valparaiso. (Some of the others probably are as well, but I'll leave that for more knowledgeable posters!) Now, your ship may not be guaranteed to dock at each of these places, depending on how many other ships are in port, and the size of your ship. At some point, Celebrity should make available a more detailed itinerary, which should indicate which ports are tender ports and which are docked. Enjoy your cruise! 4774Papa Posted March 18, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Is there a way to find where celebrity ships dock in South American cities and colon, panama? I am interested in order to figure out distances to center of each city or town. Also my booking confirmation does not show tendering ports...where can I find that info. Thanks! I can tell you about other ports, since I have done two cruises to South America. For Colon, there is a dock in the city of Colon. However, frankly, you don't want to go into Colon. It is a rat hole. I wouldn't go there unless I was with security. If you are going to Colon, take an excursion that leaves Colon and visits the Gatun locks or the train that goes to Panama City. Forget Colon. Here are my two reviews, detailing the cruises http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=248878 http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=94024
4774Papa Posted March 18, 2014 #18 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Some ports like Ushuaia, Argentina ships can dock, unless there are too many ships in port and some tender. We were docked there. Tendering in Punta Arenas and Puerto Montt.
