Crown and Anchor teams up with M Life is official!

Recommended Posts

M life frustration...called MGM, they said call RCÇL, called RCCL and they said call MGM. I said forget it, we'll stick with Harrah's. Planning a big birthday celebration for 7 couples in Vegas, MGM just too hard to work with...Planet Hollywood - here we come!

Thanks Daghis,

I actually paid 4000.00 CDN as it shows on my Canadian Visa statement, But Was actually billed for 3800.00 USD for 5 of us in two connecting Inside Cabins including Gratuity and Taxes. So They did give me some sort of MLife discount here.

As I am Platinum on Mlife and it will bring me to Diamond Plus on Crown n anchor ?, So on my next cruise I will be able to visit Concierge and Diamond lounges but on this cruise as its my first one with RCI

Platinum on M Life brings you to Gold - not Diamond Plus. As far as to whether you got a discount - the last communication I had was that this year's program had to be booked by September 30, and need to sail by the end of the year - and was either a 3 night cruise - or a $600 towards any cruise. Next year's program hasn't been determined yet.

We are D+ on RCI and were issued Platinum cards in Mlife.

It seems that it may be better to be a cruiser wanting M-Life perks?

Because of this thread, and us wanting to do Vegas next year, I emailed a screenshot to M-Life on Sunday. We are Emerald and within about an hour I had my M-Life account listed as Gold.

Decided to do a comparison of room costs in late May 2014. Looked at multilple hotels and different types of rooms. Booking them through M-Life is 20-25% cheaper than booking on the actual hotel's website. :)

I emailed Club royal about how will I get my Mlife benefits , This was the Reply I got Today.,

Hello KP,

On Allure of the Seas the casino is 18000 sq feet with 464 slots and 27

tables. The table games consist of BJ, SDBJ, Roulette, Craps, 3 CP, CSP,

Let It Ride, UTH, Ppro and baccarat. The slots machines vary and are

multi-denominational.

Your drink vouchers, internet and your specialty dinner for two will be

arranged by your casino host. Please see the casino host once the casino

opens to receive these benefits. When you get to the pier you will see a

sign that either says Gold or Crown and Anchor, go to that area, that is

priority check in. You do have departure lounge access but it is for you

and one guest only. Your welcome amenity will be in your room when it

ready.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

My RCL Emerald got me Mlife Gold: this was great, as I got suite comp upgrades at Aria, Luxor, & Excalibur. Also VIP check in & VIP buffet lines. This alone, saved me an hour wait for meals and checking in!!

This is an OUTSTANDING Benefit, which we should complement RCCL on!!!

I agree. Now, I knew about the "Gold" status, and the VIP lines, how did you get suite comps?

We're Mlife Gold and have always called and linked our Mlife account to our cruise in advance.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with the amenities listed above? We are 0 for 2 on the departure lounge.

The only way we managed to get priority check in on our last cruise was by just ignoring and walking past the people that were checking cards - they started arguing with us. At check in, they were completely clueless about what Mlife was, about our access to the departure lounge, etc.

I'm curious because our next cruise is coming up fast, and due to a flight change, we're going to be at the dock well before they start letting anyone on the ship, so I'd like to be able to use the lounge. Any tips on how to make sure we're able to?

Also, what sort of welcome amenity do other Golds usually get? We have had the letter in our cabin directing us to check in with a casino host as an Mlife member on both of our previous cruises, but we never received any sort of welcome amenity.

After both cruises I contacted both Mlife and RCCL about not receiving most of the benefits, and didn't even get an apology, much less any information on how to make sure we get the advertised benefits the next time around, so I'm hoping a fellow cruiser might have some advice?

Thanks!

I have had the same luck as you. Was told in the e-mail that if I get ANY Crown and Anchor benefits (I am D+), then the MLife benefits (I am platinum) won't apply. I would just take a copy of your e-mail and show the RCCL persons that you are allowed to use the lounge.

Yeah, I'm going to try waving the email around and see if that gets us anywhere. I'll post here after the cruise if I can remember to let y'all know how it goes.

As far as the conflicting/overriding benefits - we're "only" Gold in both MLife and C&A, but will be Platinum in C&A later this year. One of the people in the call center that answers for the casino (I've so far found 3 different numbers for 3 different parts of the RCCL casino team it seems) was really, really confused and originally said:

If you receive ANY RCCL discounts (i.e., C&A status-based, residency discount, onboard credit, etc.) you receive NO MLife benefits (i.e., complimentary specialty dinner, seapass cash advance fee waived, drink vouchers, etc).

Then she talked to a supervisor, came back and said:

If you receive ANY RCCL discounts, you receive no MLife discounts (i.e., I've occasionally seen special offers from Mlife for an on-board credit due to MLife status), but DO receive MLife benefits.

When we referenced the terms that RCCL has posted online (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contentWithGallery.do?pagename=mgm_partnership) she went back to talk to a supervisor, came back and said that for future cruises, we should just call them (RCCL casino department) before booking and book via them. Supposedly they will review our account and determine if the RCCL/C&A discounts are better than any available MLife discounts and then set it up so that we get the best discount AND the MLife benefits.

She specifically mentioned that she noticed our currently booked cruises will quality us for C&A Platinum, and that's when there will be weird issues because of the balcony discounts. Her final answer was that we would be able to get the MLife benefits and the C&A Platinum balcony discount, but that we would NOT be able to get an MLife discount, Mlife benefits and the C&A Platinum balcony discount.

I don't think it helps that it looks like they're changing the benefits and the way the program works every 6 months or so - i.e., when we sailed last summer, earning M life tier credits for Casino Royale play wasn't possible, but it is possible now, but apparently only for sailings through the end of this year.

We're thinking about aiming for Mlife platinum in 2015 - have you seen much value in your platinum status with them outside of the RCCL benefits?

We do get limo service in Las Vegas, but that may be through our host. That's really about it. But like you, when the program first started we received the RCCL/MLife benefits including the internet, free drinks and specialty restaurants, but now depending on who you talk with the benefits are moving targets.....I don't think even they know what they are.... or how to qualify

This is the phone# 888-561-2234 I use for Casino Royale to book a cruise. When this program first started I was advised through Casino Royale that you can not double dip the benefits. If you are booking a cruise you will get either your C&A benefits or your MLife benefits with RCI. Whatever benefit is a better discount for you that's the benefit you would get, you can not get both benefits. Don't know if things have changed since last year with the benefits.

I am C&A D+ and MLife platinum. If you take any C&A discount (balcony, certificate, etc), you cannot get any of the MLife on board benefits. So basically if your want the specialty restaurant the 15 drinks, book an inside cabin.

Now going to Vegas, that is when you will benefit if platinum. All the perks mentioned and then some not mentioned. Free access into the secret garden and the shark tank which isn't mentioned but you received. Also love the jump the line for taxi at mgm resorts.

Downside, not really as it gets me to vegas, you need to show up in person to get your Mlife loyalty card. They will not mail it to you.
