First word of the arrangement was back in October (LINK).

I have yet to see a comprehensive list specifically listing what perks are afforded to what level of player - both what Mlife card holders receive from Royal, and back (Royal to Mlife)... just bits and pieces.

It does look promising in terms of what I have heard - but I am waiting for the final release of information. Not sure when that's going to be made public.

Lucky timing but we were in the process of booking a weekend in Vegas at the Aria when this was first reported on CC. I made a few calls and was able to convert D+ status to Platinum in Mlife. There are a few discounts here and there but the best perk is a 20% discount on the room. Call Mlife and be prepared with your C&A numbers.

We got an e.mail last week from C&A UK. It was inviting us to a free 3 night break inlcuding tickets to Cirque and a meal somewhere at the MGM Grand , Vegas. Unfortunately transport costs were not included and we were otherwise engaged, the date was sometime at end of Feb.:)

For info we are Pinnacle C&A members

Anyone have the list for what different Mlife levels get you with Royal?

I am Platinum with Mlife and was told that it was good for a 4-5 night Royal cruise (Oceanview) where I just pay fees/taxes.

In the past getting to Platinum was not a simple matter (either a lot of $ at risk, or a moderate amount over a long period of time). The earned status is only good for 1 year (ending Oct. 1). With the recent changes at Mlife regarding how tier credits are earned, the 200,000 required to become Platinum are purportedly more difficult.

Thus my real question is - for those who are D+ with Royal (that level is retained, and does not have to be re-earned each year), when they receive the Platinum Mlife card, is that for a year or for "life" (they need not meet the recurring annual requirements of Mlife to retain).

Speaking as someone who, through Mlife, had to WORK at reaching and keeping that level - I have my own feelings on that! ;)

I have no idea how that works. Ill probably find out in April when we hit the Aria.

I suppose the next time we go to Vegas ill just follow the same procedure as last time, that is assuming the program is still in existence.

Not sure if this affects me or not but I figured I would ask. I am currently Emerald member of C&A and have a reservation for the Mandalay Bay in May.

Do I need to do something to get some extra perks for our stay? I would guess a key factor is I don't actually have an Mlife card (it has been a long time since we've been to Vegas...:(). Should I join to get some extra perks during our stay?

Thanks for your help!

As long as Mandalay is an MGM property (I assume it is) then you can sign up for Mlife. I didn't have one either but you can go on line (google it) and obtain one in advance. You can then call their Customer Relations and provide them with your info.

My understanding is that you need to pick up your card when visiting the casino. It should be one of the first things you do.

The way it is supposed to work is the perks are interchangable...kind of like Celebrity with Royal BUT one does not earn "points" that lead to growth of the other...a visit to Vegas will not gain the C&A member growth points just as a cruise will not gain the Mlife member growth points. We each get the reward of the other system at a preset level based upon where we currently stand. The Mlife staus changes based upon yearly rewards if my son (lives in vegas) is correct. The C&A status just grows as one enjoys more cruises with Royal. So yes Tom, the Mlife will be granted to a C&A member as long as the program continues BUT Tom you will also get all the C&A perks as long as the program continues. You can visit the Royal web site to view the perks for each level. I am sorry to say that your Platinum Mlife which equals C&A Diamond + will not offer you a free cruise. IF you make it to the Pinnacle Club level you can upon joining (=100/7 day cruises) and at certain levels (=150/7day cruises) within the Pinnacle get a free cruise but that is a long way off for most folks here on CC. I am sorry you don't feel it is an even swap...we have worked hard to get to our Diamond and Above levels too.

Kind of work both way since MLife members will be getting perks on Royal Caribbean too.

Don't get me wrong - I am happy to see the program and I do not, in the least, discount the effort that people on both sides of this equation have invested.

It's just a little sweeter for the longtime Royal customer locking in a level with Mlife when those with Mlife cards must re-prove themselves each year within the Mlife program. When I look at this from the standpoint (not my own) of someone who does not cruise and only holds an Mlife card, let's say Platinum. They have put a lot of money into play to reach that level and they must continue/repeat that every year to earn that right to go to the front of the taxi line, get that store discount, line pass to the buffet, etc. Then imagine that someone who has been to Vegas (perhaps never) one time and played penny slots for 20 minutes BUT who has earned a particular level with Royal thus is now handed a Platinum card - apparently for life, while the original Mlife fellow must continue to grind away annually to maintain his status.

If I were that Mlife (only) player - I would consider investing in some sea days to take the burden off my annual "work". ;)

It's all good - I see benefits in both directions. And I honestly owe my Diamond status with Royal thanks to Celebrity.... where I reached Elite with only 5 sailings! (So who am I to speak :o) :D

So... Platinum with Mlife equates to what level with Royal?? I have seen many threads on the board where people post information, but I have yet to see it posted on an official website, nor in any kind of mailing which I've received.

THANKS!

Tom

I haven't seen any mailings but I've got a cruise booked in May so I've been on the phone with them a few times (this might be an understatement) trying to figure out the benefits.

First of all, all Mlife members receive Gold C&A status. There is no level for level reciprocity but you will receive all of the Gold C&A benefits plus...

The other benefits I only have the information for Gold Mlife. These extra benefits do not show up on your booking, you need to visit the casino host when you arrive onboard.

From the Club Royale which is the onboard casino club you will recieve the following extra benefits:

Entertainment Tour

Departure Lounge Access

Priority Checkin

One free specialty dinner including wine

Waive the 3% cash advance fee

5 drink tickets (possibly for use only in the casino but that wasn't mentioned on the phone)

Basically to find out what you would get you need to call the Club Royale line and they'll set you up. (888) 561-2234

For C&A members the line to call for Mlife is 1-888-987-7887

Diamond Plus

On the phone with Royal as we speak. Apparently, according to the person I'm speaking with, it's not a "level for level" thing, but more a perks awarded for your level with the other organization.

I am being told that, being Platinum with Mlife, that I will be eligible for (among other things):

A free (less gratuities and taxes) 3, 4, or 5 night sailing in an ocean view cabin on a few different ships.

Comp specialty dinner for two

3% fee waived in the casino

10 drink vouchers

On hold now...

When I first read about the promotion / partnership I was very intrigued as (by chance) we were in the midst of planning a weekend in April at the Aria (an MGM Property). I did some investigation on line and through RCI and found that there was just hardly any info available. It apparently had not been diseminated to staff.

I made a call to a PR person with Mlife who put me in touch with someone who provided me with more details. After that, we booked the Aria and obtained a 20% discount on the room that we would not have received before.

I don't know what you are being offered on RCI but I wish you luck! A free cruise (even a short one) would be awesome!

Confused!! I just called M Life and wanted to give them our C&A info, they wouldn't take it. They said when we call for a room then they would give us the discount. Well anybody can call and say they are D, D+ or PC.

I know we will be going soon to Bellagio, since we are already M Life card holders, it would be nice to be bumped up to the next level.

Yes - that's kind of odd. Not sure how my Diamond status would work for me with Mlife. All the trips we take to Vegas to begin with are "free" rooms and (most) food.
