Pettifogger Posted February 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2013 It has been a very long time since I was small and, no doubt, my recollections are not all accurate, but I'm pretty sure of the following: adults were more restrained in both their dress and their behavior; courtesy was more common; age was more respected; young people were more enthusiastic about their jobs; management was more available and gracious to customers; the world was almost plastic-free; cruise ships were more compact in size; maximizing revenue per square millimeter was not as much of a factor in ship design. Come to think of it, that's what I'm looking forward to on my next cruise on the Prinsendam in a few weeks, except that, instead of small, I'll be grown-up and can have a little scotch if I wish and desserts like I never dreamt of when I was small. On the ship it will be a lot like it used to be off the ship, only better.

Rare rafinmd Posted February 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Just be aware of the pitfall. That dreaded disembarkation letter will come way sooner than you are prepared for. Enjoy the Elegant Explorer and make every minute count because the time will fly by. Roy

When your cruise comes to an end you will be sad. This is normal.
