1st timer here my wife and I & 3 teenage daughters going 3/27

I'm a heavy drinker wife can't drink doctors orders

The question is since we have 2 rooms and my wife is in with 2 kids and I'm with the other one in the other room can I just purchase the cheers program since I'm the only one who is 21+ in the room

Thank you for your time in advance

I have read that a bartender complained that they don't like the Cheers program because they don't see the tips from it. And that people with the cheers received poor/slow service. Anyone have personal experience with this? I always tip cash when I order a drink so I have never had a problem with slow service or weak drinks.

I have always received good service with Cheers... I tip with cash, so they like that. And I tend to frequent the same bar for the duration of the cruise, so they get to know my drinks of choice...

Hello all I was wondering something. Does your picture pop up on the computer when the bar scans your card? The reason I am asking is me and my children are staying in a cabin my kids are all under 21. My parents are staying in another. I do not drink nor does my mother so paying for 2 people seems silly when I can pay for 1 and essentially allow my father to use it. So my question is what are the identifiers on the system? Is it just a sticker or is there more?

Thanks in advance for help

Yes, when they slide your card in the computer, your photo appears on their screen.

We took advantage of the cheers program on the Dream in mar 2013. It was perfect for my partner and I. I hit the 15 max 1 day on the 7day cruise. The other days what ever we had left at the end of the night we would get unopened beers. During port days we would take the unopened beers with us, in a collapsible cooler into port. Saved us some money while in port!

We plan to do the cheers package again when we go on the fantasy in April.

BTW I loved the long islands and that will be my first drink, while I'm signing up for the program as soon as we get on the ship!

That's a good idea! I was having a hard time justifying getting the CHEERS program when I knew we would be paying for drinks at port. We still probably will but buy some, but this will cut down on the number we buy.

Looks like you should have done your research before you booked the cruise and you could have avoided the situation you're in. If you had booked your father with your kids in one cabin and you with your Mom in the other, your Dad could legally purchase the program by himself since he would be the only over 21 occupant in the cabin.

In the future you can always search a thread to try to extract specific information you're seeking. It can be difficult to read 1500+ posts on a topic.

I haven't read back through this tread recently so don't know if this has been discussed.

On the Magic last week they have started counting the "free" drinks you get with the On Us card in the casino along with your 15 limit on the Cheers program.

I think that's kind of a rip off. I paid for 15 drinks on Cheers and I paid for my On Us card based on my amount of play.

She can still do this. Call carnival or go to guest services on the boat and rearrange the rooms so that your father is listed in the room with your kids.

I saw this mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and IF I was thinking of getting Cheers, this is a deal breaker. But what I'm wondering is... if I max out my 15 drinks in the casino (doubt that will happen but just in case), does that mean that I'll be cut off from paying for drinks at other bars? And then that leads me to wonder if they will have a 15 drink max across the board no matter how you're paying for it. On a sea day I find it's not difficult to drink 15 drinks.

We bought the package on our recent glory cruise in eastern Caribbean, bought it on the second day when we realised the cost of drinks after first day, it was a no brainer. Plus we had an extra sea day due to cancelled visit to harm moon cay. Easily made 15 drinks a day.

We did note however that the drink waiters walking the decks avoided cheers card holders, we received comments like " oh u are on cheers ".

On previous cruises, I was visited every 10 mins when waiter knew we were paying.

Sorry in advance, but considering this thread is 78 pages long and it would take a while to read every answer. I may be repeating a question already asked. If you go the the reg frog pub and get that yummy thirsty frog beer. Does that count as one of your(drinks) or do you just get the 25% off of it?

If you had Cheers!, you would hand them your S&S card, get a receipt back for $0.00 (with a spot to leave an additional tip, if desired), and it would count as one of your 15 drinks for the day.

Please don't take this the wrong way. Do you have personal experience this beer in the red frog pub? I'm only asking because that beer is my favorite drink on the boat and what most of my bar tab consists of. And that will make or break if I get the cheers package on my upcoming cruise.

If you get a pint of the red, it is included. Pitchers or tubes of it are not. There are exceptions to the under 10 rule, such as floaters, which are not included in the program, but you can always wait 5 minutes and order an additional shot of rum to go in your drink if you'd like.

If it's $10 or under, it'll be included in Cheers.
