Looking for a list of handy things to bring to make my cruise easier...

What kind of wrinkle release did you order? Are some better than others? I certainly do not need a lot for just 7 days but I am traveling with three women  LOL

Spray or squirt type? I suppose one that has a good cap to avoid leaks in the suitcase.

Thoughts?

This is what I ordered: it got pretty good reviews.

The best invention I have ever found is Press N Seal. I always wrap everything that could potentially leak that I put into a large suitcase in Press N Seal. Even when something has leaked, it has not damaged anything, and did not make a mess in the suitcase. I wrap everything in Press N Seal and then put it in a freezer Zip Loc Bag. We carefully unwrap the Press N Seal when we unpack and reuse it when packing to go home.

I used to bring regular sizes of shampoo, conditioner etc. (we can't always find the brands we use where we travel). Now I bring a smaller bottle and save empty vitamin bottles with good screw on lids and put additional shampoo, conditioner, lotions etc in those. When they are emptied into the other container they are put in the garbage (hopefully they recycle) and there is less bulk to take home which means more room for purchases.

I use the large Zip Loc Bags for shoes. Each pair gets their own bag. When I return home, I put the zip loc bag in my shoe drawers with each pair of shoes, ready to repack when need be. It protects the shoes in the bottom of the closet on the ship and they can be stacked if need be.

Rather than bringing containers from home I use glasses to keep things sorted that do not go in my hanger that goes on the bathroom door. The cabin steward always gives us more glasses to use for drinking.

After each cruise I make a list of whatever we have run out of on the cruise and replenish within a couple of weeks so I am always ready to pack up and go:D

Two things I have not seen mentioned.

A go-cup to fill with coffee/tea to carry around the ship.

I bring a canvas six-pack cooler and ask the room steward to fill it with ice every morning. I make ice tea by putting tea bags in a water bottle and fill it with water to keep in the cabin. The only place to get ice tea is WJ which doesn't have it until lunch time and it closes at 9:00 or 9:30 p.m. I, also, bring (or buy) soda in port. I always have plenty of ice in my cabin. I keep the cooler in the shower because it "sweats." Also, it reminds the steward to fill it when he is servicing the room in the morning.

Another use for it is to keep white wine cold as the refrigerators are little more than shade. I have a 32 ounce plastic flask that will hold a liter. The size fits just right in the bottom of the cooler. I bring it empty and then fill it after I get on the ship.

One of the things we do is put a photocopy of our passport in our luggage along with an index card with an emergency contact name, address and phone number. And, lord forbid, if someone gets injured or very sick, but we also have with us a typed list of all of our prescription medications we take on a daily basis. You never know when it'll be needed. And, of course, we each take a flashlight plus all the other usual stuff.:)

I bought an over the door clear shoe organizer that held all of our toiletries, it was very nice to have all the bottles and lotions hung up and out of the way on the bathroom door. Towel clips from bed, bath & beyond were also a great idea, it helps you spot your friends on the deck as much as hold your towel in place in the wind. Please do not use a lanyard unless you are a child under 8 or over 70. Sorry.

I understand your lanyard comment, but what do you suggest as an alternative? It needs to be handy but not get lost:rolleyes:Really, I need some suggestions

I use a lanyard and I am a little older than 8 (lol). I wear it under my top but then I don't wear scoop necks either where the strap would show. My lanyard has a holder at the end of it to slip my card in and a "pocket" on the opposite side where I can keep tip money and/or a small comb. Hence, I don't have to carry a purse on the ship and I can get to it easily.

On shore, I really want it under my clothes. I put my driver's license, when a picture ID is required, in that pocket.

For those of you who don't like lanyards...

http://www.amazon.com/Elastic-Whistle-Keychain-Bracelet-Individually/sim/B001CCJPQA/2

I think you can get them at most hardware stores

Or this

http://compare.ebay.com/like/230549278900?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

you could clip one end to your belt loop and put the card in your pocket.
