I guess I'm the only one who will be taking a vacation from the internet & phone. The only time I will use my phone is when we arrive back in port to call the limo service to pick me up.

Of course I will be taking my kindle but only for reading not internet access.

Thats what I hope to do. But I need to be connected to back home. I have someone who is close to me who is very sick, and it is the first time my dog will be without me and my boyfriend. So so all I am looking for is a connection to back home.

Switching tacks from the Internet questions ... I have a food question for recent Splendor people. Do they have the chicken fingers in the grill area? I know some ships have done away with them. I've heard they were very good when they had them and my DH loves chicken fingers.

Oh and on the Mongolian Wok - I've heard there are different kinds of noodles to choose from. What are they?

LOL - my DH says, I'm the only person in the world who plans what they are going to eat on vacation :D

Hi absolutely brilliant, :)

You're not alone. When my wife & I cruise our phones stay in our cabin safe.

However when at port we place them in a zip lock bag & toss them in our

nap sack just in case of an emergency.

Many people can't take a vacation from their phone or internet due to so

many factors. I am very thankful & fortunate that we have been able to

turn the world off when on holiday.

Enjoy your double cruise! We leave tomorrow so we will be exiting the ship right before you enter.

We are thinking of taking b2b cruises on Splendor round trip NY-San Juan either Jan or Feb 2015. Did you book the same cabin for both cruises & do you have to check in twice or can you just leave your stuff in the cabin? I would hate to have to pack & unpack.

I have yet to take my first cruise on Splendor and last time I cruised I did not bring along any device. When I called Carnival they told me that the signal was available throughout the ship as well as in the cabins. :( I don't know if I should take them literally though. I expect some areas will have a weaker signal than others.

I ahve tried it in our cabins on the Splendor and it worked fine (Spa deck and upper deck).

We can't wait to sail.

Oh yes, we certainly did book the same cabin for both cruises. We wouldn't

have it any other way. On 'turnaround day' items stay in your stateroom and

you meet in the lobby to receive new sign & sail cards.

Then you are escorted off the ship (as a passenger in-transit) to

immigration (customs) and brought directly back onto the ship.

You also have a wonderful cruise! Bon voyage:)

WiFi being WiFi, that really doesn't mean anything Jimbo, unless someone was staying in the same cabin.

True enough.... would kind of defeat the purpose if we were all staying in one room also, not to mention the training involved in everyone roll over in bed at the same time. Sometimes my keyboarding skills get ahead of my brain....now that is scary:confused: Did I hear tell you are cruising soon?

For everyone leaving today, I just watched the Splendor sail through the Harbor. The George Washington bridge is in sight so she should be docking soon. Awesome sunrise!

Have a great cruise and bring us lots of info! 24 days for me!

I haven't been on the Splendor yet, but all the Mongolian Woks I have been to have rice type noodles and some other thin type noodles. (Sorry, not a noodle girl myself) However, there weren't any ramen type noodles or lo mein type noodles. I wasn't sure if that is what you were expecting.

And no rice. I usually go to the Tandoori place and get some yellow rice from there.

Thanks Kat. If other people were as enthusiastic as me we would be at the port by now.

Thanks - actually I was hoping for cellophane noodles - but rice noodles are good, too! They had these awesome cellophane noodles and spring rolls on the Legend & the Miracle at the Asian station. I had them every day!

LOL - have fun! I plan to get up early and watch the ship come in on the day we sail, so I am going to be ready to go to the port - probably before everyone else!
