And NJ will get Anthem after Liberty so I'm not jumping ship from Quantum but I will be following Anthem's build even closer now. :) I'm actually looking forward to Liberty. I've been on Freedom and we really liked her!

 

Plus they have Saturday Night Fever...LOL

 

 

I agree ive been on the Liberty twice and really enjoyed that ship. So its not the end of the world. Might be a little cheaper too :D.. Still waiting to see what the schedule is like for May 2015 out of NJ. I want to book a certain cruise while on board. an open booking is not even worth it anymore

You do realize FLL is still getting a Quantum class ship right? Just a year later and Quantum 3 instead of Anthem.

 

 

 

And this has been announced where? To my knowledge nothing about Quantum 3 has even been remotely announced.

 

One thing is for certain, and that is itinerary deployments can change at any time as we have just seen with QUANTUM. Nothing is set in stone.

I guess one of the reasons many have been enjoying watching the build of the Quantum of the Seas specifically is because they plan to sail on it. Certainly, you'll be able to sail on one of those two ships, the Anthem of the Seas and/or the third ship. If you look at this thread’s content in a general sense, as watching a Quantum-class ship being built, you’re getting to watch how Meyer Werft will build the Anthem or other ship now instead of later. So time well spent. … Did that come out okay?

Trying to find the silver lining. :)

If I'm going to book a cruise on the Quantum, I guess I'd better do it soon. Otherwise I guess I'll book the Anthem for November 2015 to - <what month is the last of the 2015-2016 winter season end?> 2016.

Based on all the posts within 4-5 threads on the general Quantum class announcement and go-forward plans...there is plenty of angst over RCI's plans for Quantum and Anthem.

 

Going from nearly 18 months of anticipation to change-driven disappointment is a huge leap of emotional equity regarding the Quantum class...and it's clear there are plenty of others who have taken that same roller-coaster ride.

 

Likely some of us will still casually follow things here...but not with the direct interest in terms of this being candidate ships for a future cruises. :(

I do feel bad for them after they hyped the Anthem's home port in the UK and the ports looked amazing!

You're welcome! I think that everybody is contributing great info and images to this [1730 posts & growing] thread. It's an interesting read!! Hope that RCI appreciates the exposure that its first two Quantum-class ships are getting! :D Seeing a lot of that angst that you mention. Hope everybody gets the cruise they hoped for in the end, when everything settles.

No official announcement and FLL could be completely shunned. It was speculated that Quantum 3 would go to China. Sounds like a flipflop so FLL would get Quantum 3 instead of China.

It has not been confirmed that Anthem will be sailing from Cape Liberty, Nj during the Summer of 2016. Notice how things are worded, "winter 2015/2016 cruise season". She could be headed back to UK, who knows. What a mess!

I can completely understand how you feel. Like you, we were also looking forward to Quantum summer 2015 and Anthem out of FLL. We especially looked forward to the summer 2015 Quantum schedule since our Quantum 3/21/15 sailing had a port dropped thus making it a two port stop for an 8 Night Cruise. Not optimal at all. (Also we missed two ports of call on our recent Adventure OTS 3/16/14 sailing). So we have some decisions to make as well.

 

Maybe I have been following the whole deployment thing too closely and especially will all the new builds coming due. Yet, IMO the whole thing from information release to deployment has been a mess.

I did not realize that about Mariner. Too bad. She is the reason we got hooked on RCI after our first cruise on her with Capt. Johnny. I suppose if they make major changes to Quantum she may not be coming back to the US any time soon.

 

By the way, great pictures above with the blue. That is quite cool.

 

I was on the Mariner during the first leg of her repositioning to Asia. The first set of changes wasn't so bad. The casino was majorly reconfigured. More than half of the slots were removed to put in a lot of tables. So, if you like slots there would be some disappointment. There was a small private baccarat room in the main Casino, separate from the Golden Room which was over the Dance Club.

 

They also turned one of the promenade shops into a high end jewelry shop. I don't buy much on board so that doesnt bother me.

 

Now, I don't know what this is going to do for Dynamic dining. As I am on the maiden voyage, I am a little worried now that all those restaurants may change

Ya. Another post. It's just that something special happened at EMS-Pre-Cab today. As some of you know, EMS-Pre-Cab builds cabins for Meyer Werft cruise ships.

 

The furniture set for the 10,000th cabin for an ocean liner at Meyer Werft arrived with a red bow at EMS-Pre-Cab company today, April 17th .

 

 

Quantum of the Seas is the lucky recipient of this ‘gift’ bestowed with a red bow. Those are likely some of its cabins piled up on the giant shelving behind the group of people.

Question: in the forward facing cabin windows, do they directly face outside or to a walkway? I have one one on deck 10 and never booked this type of cabin before.

Lloyd - Many thanks for the pictures today. Very nice. Hall 5 is being put to good use. With no new build to start in Hall 5 they could probably accelerate the build of Anthem using all that space to store the compled blocks.

It's only on loan in the winter months!

 

Considering the big launch event they did to base it UK just one Summer would be very odd, especially as you're stealing Independence of the Seas!!!
