Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2013 The Freedom, sailing August 10 (2013), will be our first "Premier Casino" cruise. For those who have sailed on one of these previously, can I assume that the casino will be significantly busier? Often, on Carnival cruises at least, I find myself playing at an otherwise empty table ($25 min. Blackjack). Should I expect company this time around? That would be a nice change! Also, the cocktail reception - does that usually occur in the casino or in a small lounge? Usually on the first night? Right before the casino opens? Just curious!! aggieastrosfan Posted June 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2013 On the Magic last year, the cocktail party was in the disco. I want to say it was right around the time the casino opened, but I can't be sure (I was only at the party to let MIL and FIL know where we were going, wasn't invited :o). I can't remember if they got their drinks on us cards at the party, but they did have to go to the cashier anyway to claim their cash. And the casino was packed all week, it was hard to get a seat at a table, let alone two, and every table was open. If the money I saw thrown around on the craps table was any indication, you should have plenty of company at the $25 blackjack table all week. :) Meredith Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I usually play two spots at the table -- to essentially "buy" Cheryl's seat (she does not play... thankfully)! :D Tom

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 4, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted June 4, 2013 I have not heard of these until recently (here). Are they something new? In the past I have received periodic offers in the mail. It was not until a couple of weeks ago that I realized that they were on my profile as well: When looking up rates for a sailing which was on my mailer (one of 6 sailings through the end of the year), this is what it showed: The offer of a "free" balcony (we're responsible for fees/taxes) and $1,000 cash was too difficult to ignore! We directed a few more $'s their way and paid to upgrade to a GS. Tom

Rare jimbo5544 Posted June 4, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2013 BTW - you're going to really enjoy the Oasis ! Tom As you can see from my signature, it will be a step in a different direction for us. One of my son in laws is Diamond plus (your neck of the woods in terms of sailings completed) with Royal and we always joust (friendly) back and forth. Decided it was time to reach out and give it ago. Only other RCCL sailing was Majesty more than several years ago and was not overly impressed at the time. Tom I have sailed on a couple of these cruises. We are booked on the Liberty Oct. 19th with a Premier offer. The casino is ALOT busier! Since I play the slots I found it hard to find a machine to play on some evenings. The ones left open were the duds! :) I think the Premier cruises are to attract the slot players as most that we met were playing the machines but the tables looked really busy too so I'm sure some of the invites are card players too. The cocktail party was done on the first night around 5:00pm. This is where they will give you your "free drinks on us" card. Your money can be picked up after the cocktail party at the cashier window. You will need to provide them a photo ID. I'm sure you probably already know this but this was a problem for me as I don't carry my ID after boarding so I had to go back to the cabin to retrieve. Have a great cruise!:)

I think (could be wrong) that as a D+ he gets access to the Concierge Lounge. If so, tag along one afternoon (5 to 8:30 as I recall). If you're in a suite, you'll have access to begin with. It's a great place to enjoy some snacks and free drinks. In retrospect, we probably should have taken advantage of it EVERY night on our Oasis sailing last month! mindy.le Posted June 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted June 14, 2013 We just got back from our second premier cruise on Sunday. You're going to really enjoy it. You will receive some gifts in your cabin here and there and the level of service in the casino is definitely higher and busier than normal. They hold special events for premier guests like slot tournaments and raffles. Also an FYI that we learned of on our second premier sailing, there's no 3% fee if you get cash from your sail and sign account at the tables. Here are some pictures from our last two premier cruises. It'll give you an idea of what to expect. :) Magic https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201194417852973.1073741828.1546430878&type=1&l=d5b3fe1bc2 Liberty https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201099694164940.1073741827.1546430878&type=1&l=1809d4b37f

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 14, 2013 Author #19 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Since it appears that much of the stuff is points based, it seems to weigh heavily in favor of slot players. Playing tables, I've often little clue as to how many points I've earned. Any idea how they dole out points for table play? Tom

PittsburghGirlee Posted June 14, 2013 #21 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Question for those have already sailed on a Premier cruise.... Can you still call the casino and ask if you qualify for any additional $$$$ ? I usually call Michael at the Player's Club and get between $50 - $100 additional from my previous cruise slot play. This will be my 3rd cruise this year and I was just wondering if they do not offer any extras since I am getting $300.00 in casino cash. I guess I could just call and ask, but was wondering if anyone else has done this on a PC. Any help would be appreciated:).
Elmo31 Posted June 15, 2013 #22 Share Posted June 15, 2013 That's a good question because we do get a little cash from them on all our other cruises. Also the offer was mailed to me so just wondering if my hubby gets the saame perks too. If he doesn't can he go in the party with me or do I have to go alone

You will not get anything more. We loved the premier cruise we took last year. They even gave the free drinks on us card to my dd, as she was in the cabin with dh and I!!
