I was just wondering...

Recommended Posts

Do you think I'll be able to go into the MDR in jeans and a cheap concert shirt on formal night? You see, I had my tux wrapped around my rum runners full of vodka, and one of them must have leaked a little. I was having a cigar on my balcony before going down for a drink, and suddenly "whoosh"! Luckily, my eye brows are only a little singed, but there are holes burned all in my tux.

What do you think????

If I were you, I would demand a full refund of my cruise fare. You deserve it because obviously, your luggage was mishandled!!!!

:D

For now, you will be able to get in, but all that is changing over the next few years. Starting in 2014, they will be fitting all ships with denim detectors as you enter the dining room. If you pass by the detectors wearing jeans, it will set off a discrete alarm to alert the Maitre D', and you well be pulled aside and asked to change before returning. There was some talk of having the system detect your SeaPass card and add a small fee to your account, but that idea was scrapped. This will only be rolled out across the fleet as ships go through their normally schedule dry-dock refurbs, so it will be a while before it is fully implemented.

You will be fine.

Remember formal night is lobster night. Order about 8 entres, and just have them provide you with doggie bags so you can keep chowing down at the shows, casino, and bars for the rest of the evening.

And if you get tired of the lobster, when in port, just feed the sea gulls. They absolutely LOVE lobster.

Depends on which concert you got the shirt from.

Sounds like an outstanding idea. Knock yourself out, but not to the point of unconsciousness.

I would wear the TUX but don't go in the MDR. Sit outside on the floor with your baseball cap on the ground. You may well make enough to pay for your Grand Suite, or at the very least a glass of wine+15% gratuity.

Well, it is your own fault, after all! If you hadn't spent all afternoon hogging chairs by the pool, you'd have had sufficient time to prepare properly for dinner!

(Thanks for the chuckle, Markeb ;)).

Eight servings of lobster? Whether you eat it all or share it with the gulls, there's going to be poop on the balcony.

Oh, yeah. My party of two had four great chairs in the solarium all day. We weren't there very much, but when we were, people were just rude and kept staring at us...

I'd heard they were going with an RF tagged card, like an EZ Pass, so they could auto charge you for MDR violations? Is that not true? I'm sure I read it on some blog somewhere, so it must be true...
