C at Sea Posted August 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Hi! We are on that flight too and it usually is! I noticed that since last time we flew with them (Feb 2012) the free drinks have disappeared! Cost cutting again! I used to think that it wasn't a bad flight really until I flew Virgin Atlantic to LA this May - afraid doesn't come near the experience we had on that flight - really excellent! Still all in all its not too bad - shall miss the free drinks tho - not that I had loads but it was just a nice touch!
blue_sea Posted August 31, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Hi We do the Caribbean every year and pay that little extra to upgrade the flights. We then get the complementary drinks which we enjoy and friendly smiling cabin crew. Why not spoil yourself it is only money !! Afterall you are going to one of the most beautiful places in the world go on spoil yourself. Cheers :)

dragonsfan Posted August 31, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2013 TC use Airbus A330-200A330-300 and Boeing 767-300 for its long haul work Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
jeanlyon Posted August 31, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Give me a Boeing any day over an Airbus. Hated working on them. They fly slightly nose up and they are very dry.
Thejuggler Posted August 31, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2013 All aircraft fly slightly nose up. They are trimmed that way for efficiency. Thomson are using 787s on Barbados flights this winter, but probably not cruise charters.
jeanlyon Posted September 1, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Yes they all fly slightly nose up, but not like the Airbus. It was awful.
misscolina Posted September 17, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Try http://www.seatguru.com This allows you to put in your flight number and shows which aircraft type and seating configuration for your flight and the seats to avoid. cruisefan2012 Posted September 18, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Jeanlyon, Are you ex cabin crew? I`d love to do that - Always said would love to travel the world with British Airways as cabin crew and holiday with P&O Cruises So far in my eternal quest to conquer the world, I`m doing one of the two of my plan !! misscolina Posted September 18, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Sorry but no seat guru doesn't show P & O flights but check these out:- If you are definitely flying Thos Cook it will be in a Airbus A330 http://www.seatplans.com/airlines/Th...ns/A330-200-20 Premium seats a good choice because it is cramped in the back If it is Thomson Airways you will probably fly on a First Choice 767 http://www.seatplans.com/airlines/Th...R-%28258%29-v2 This is quite roomy in the back, not much different to premium. If very lucky you could fly in the new Dreamliner. http://www.seatplans.com/airlines/Th...atplans/B787-

misscolina Posted September 28, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 28, 2013 We have just got back from Abu Dhabi flying Etihad, they use the same plane as TC from Manchester but the configuration on Etihad is 2 4 2 and was not very generous with seat pitch so TC will be cramped as they squeeze 9 across.
