Can you take your oen wine on board

We have booked our first cruise with RCI and I was wondering if you are allowed to take your own wine on board to drink in your cabin...

RCI's policy is to allow 2 x 750 ml. bottles of wine per cabin (not per person) to be brought onboard at embarkation only. The origin of the wine is not specified (store bought or homemade). It is suggested you bring it on in your carry-on luggage so the screeners can see that it is wine and will allow you through, as opposed to putting it in your suitcases, having them scanned, and delaying your luggage if they suspect it is hard liquor.

Have fun on Royal. :)

The only concern might be in making sure that the lid is not simply a cork or other easily removable type of lid as they may want to open it to make sure it is in fact wine and not some other form of alcohol disguised in a wine bottle. A paraffin or other more permanent type of seal may be recommended.
