teacup317 Posted November 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Hello all - We are scheduled to depart FLL on May 3 on the Oasis of the Seas for our 60th Birthday Cruise. We have reserved a pre-cruise room at Best Western International. Prices seen good. We were wondering if anyone else had stayed here. ? Good neighborhood (two ladies traveling) and any other comments you may have. Thanks!:)
cruise_control Posted November 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2013 You might try the Florida departures board, there may be more information there.

jmf123 Posted November 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I would recommend also checking out the reviews on Tripadvisor. I'm not sure if this is your hotel, but you can do a search (they show 2 Best Westerns): http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34227-d80513-Reviews-BEST_WESTERN_PLUS_Fort_Lauderdale_Airport_Cruise_Port-Fort_Lauderdale_Florida.html. Have a great Oasis birthday cruise! :)

Good neighborhood (two ladies traveling) and any other comments you may have. Thanks!:) FYI, Cruises from this port at the end of April/early May run into Fleet week adn hotels fill out real fast. The top 5 or 10 most commonly used cruise hotels fill up in January for that weekend. (FYI, in case you think about changing)

eandj Posted November 19, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Persaonlly I'd rec a hotel closer to the port and the downtown of Ft. L. Your date should offer reasonable rates for Hyatt Place North.
teacup317 Posted November 20, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Thank you very much for all the advice. New to these boards. I'll look at the Florida Departure board as well. Happy Cruising!

Good neighborhood (two ladies traveling) and any other comments you may have. Thanks!:) I would pick something near nicer places. Check out The Doubletree at the Galleria Mall and the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas. I think you would at least like to walk to a nice meal the night before your cruise. teacup317 Posted November 20, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks, just looked at the link and I'm satisfied that we made the right choice. My SIL works for Best Western and we are hoping she can get us a good rate with her Friends and Family Program. Happy Cruising!
royalcruz Posted November 20, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 20, 2013 I'm not sure which Best Western you are looking at, as there are several. The Best Western Oceanside is in the best neighborhood.
