New Captain's Club Press Release is Here

The press release has pretty much the same info we have been speculating about as far as tiers and points. They do refer you to a web address with Captain's Club for full details but that just brings you to a page that shows the old program. Perhaps that will be updated later.

I may be reading between the lines but it looks to me like they are going to close Michaels Club to everyone except Zenith members perhaps like Diamond Lounges on Royal.

That is very disappointing. Michaels Club is one of our favourite lounges and now it looks like they're taking it away. Will there be enough Zenith members on each sailing to justify making it available to only them?

I hope they at least take the drink offerings available there and make them available at another bar on the ship. Otherwise we will see no reason to bother with premium drink packages.

Just my own speculation, who knows if it will come true.

As of 11AM this morning, my sailing history and new Club Points Status is showing up. Also, confirmed with the reservations department that the new program is already in effect for all sailings from today forward. After much speculation, the new Captains Club is finally here!

Thank you CruisingChick and at last the sit is stable, no flashing for me( on Safari)

Yes, but where else could they put a Zenith level lounge? I can't think of anywhere but Michael's and they were using it as the "VIP" lounge on our Summit cruise in September.[/Quote]

Michael' s Club was shut most of the time on our Infinity T.A , where they were trialling VIP (PrivateParty) I assume that we now substitute 'Zenith.'

What surprised me was the windows were 'decorated' with beer bottles, which I assumed were the Craft Beers.

Does this mean they will only be available to Zenith members or will they be allocated to a different venue. If the trial didn't go well and the Craft Beers proved not to be popular, I can only assume it was because they weren't available to the majority of passengers.

Still no description of the perks associated with the new levels, and Captains Club terms and conditions hasn't been updated. In fact, it doesn't even reference the new Preview level, which has been in effect for some weeks now.

Yes, the flashing is finally gone but no update on new levels or how you earn points going forward.

Haven't seen anyone mention the changes to the upgrade policy:

One-category upgrade requests must be made at the time of booking and apply only for upgrades within the supercategory, depending on availability. Example of a supercategory upgrade in AquaClass: A2 to A1. Suites are excluded. This offer cannot be used with certain restricted fares including but not limited to Exciting Deals, ChoiceAir® specials, Reduced Air, interline, travel agent, Travelzoo, and employee rates. Upgrades apply for one stateroom per cruise. Stateroom assignments only. Not valid on holiday sailings or Reunion Cruises. Upgrades available from categories 11-A1 on all Celebrity ships except Celebrity Xpedition®. Offer valid for members who are Classic Level or higher at the time of booking.

Previously one got an upgrade only between the bottom level of cabins, i.e., insides and outsides.

speaking of that table, has anyone else noticed the * next to aqua* 5?

I wonder what the * is supposed to indicate....

That's a "Registred Copyright" symbol for "AquaClass", not a star (maybe your system not have the font for that)

Nothing taken away from Elite:

• One complimentary bag of laundry (wash, dry, fold) on every sailing***

• A private shipboard departure lounge, serving continental breakfast

Still confused on how one earns the points. Is it a daily or a weekly thing? For example, how many points does as a standard 7 night cruise earn? How many more for a 12 night cruise?

Your Membership Status

To qualify for enrollment in the Captain's Club, you must be 18 years of age or older.

Your Captain's Club membership falls into one of six levels: Preview Level (prior to sailing), Classic Level (after first completed cruise), Select Level (after earning 150 Club Points), Elite Level (after earning 300 Club Points), Elite Plus Level (after earning 750 Club Points) and Zenith Level (after earning 3,000 Club Points). After you complete your first sailing, your membership will automatically advance to the applicable membership level. You will then enjoy your new membership benefits on your next sailing on Celebrity Cruises. Your membership number will remain the same as you advance to the next level.

Tier Credits

Beginning November 25, 2013, Celebrity Cruises Captain's Club switched from membership levels based on "tier credits" to "Club Points." Prior to November 25, 2013, members earned one credit for sailing, one credit by sailing on an itinerary of 12-nights or longer, including Cruisetours (applicable to sailings on or after January 1, 2003); and earned one credit by sailing in a Concierge Class stateroom, AquaClass® stateroom, or Suite (applicable to sailings on or after January 1, 2004). After November 25, 2013, Club Points are earned based on stateroom category and length of cruise including Cruisetours when you sail with Celebrity Cruises or Azamara Club Cruises. Celebrity Cruises makes it possible for you to earn up to eighteen Club Points per night.*

The Captain's Club program terms are subject to change without prior notice.

*Complimentary sailings, Seminar at Sea, Travel Agent rates, and employee rates do not earn credits in the program. Azamara Club Cruises Note: For a limited time, guests who sail on Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club cruises will earn Club Points toward their memberships in both Captain's Club and Le Club Voyage, regardless of which brand they sail. Both Captain's Club and Le Club Voyage members will enjoy the benefits of their tier levels on both lines. Program terms are subject to change.

Reciprocity Between Brands

Equivalent recognition is one of the benefits of being a Captain's Club, Crown & Anchor Society and/or Le Club Voyage loyalty member. It offers loyalty members the opportunity to receive recognition and similar benefits with matching tier status–both pre-cruise and onboard–when sailing with one of the three brands. Members of one loyalty program must enroll in a sister program in order to receive equivalent recognition benefits.

Points on Celebrity and Azamara are earned cumulatively in both loyalty programs. For example, 20 Club Points earned on a Celebrity sailing will be reflected as 20 points in both Celebrity's and Azamara's loyalty programs. The total Club Points for the member will reflect all qualified points earned.

Points earned on Royal Caribbean are earned only for the Royal Caribbean loyalty program. Points of each loyalty program cannot be added together. Points are calculated using the applicable brand's program level accrual system.

The following program levels are equivalent for loyalty program recognition purposes:

Celebrity's Captain's Club.....Azamara LeClub Voyage.....Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society
