Astro Flyer Posted December 6, 2013 #353 Share Posted December 6, 2013 I will have to do both! :) The Tignanello alone is reason for me to partake, a superb wine!!! To me it's always best to try things & decide how much I enjoy something. We enjoyed both & hopefully we'll be able to do another Winemakers Dinner. :D I've been suggesting to Princess to expand this dinner fleetwide. The Royal only has the "wine cellar" dining area & also the Chef's Table "Lumiere". If they can have CT's on other ships without the "Lumiere" then I see no reason why they cannot have a Winemakers Dinner without a "wine cellar", right? ;)
alexmom Posted December 6, 2013 #354 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Dinner this evening was at the Crown Grill. I had the Pan Seared Scallops, Shrimp and Pancetta Bisque, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes, and 8 ounce Filet Mignon with mushrooms on the side. They also offered a 3-salt condiment. Desert was the Crown Dependence, a small sampling of the four different deserts offered. The entire meal was amazing, and of course, I'll be back next week. Ileana (Romania) and Ond (Hungary) were my servers and were really sweet and charming. I hope I get them on my next visit. After I was rolled out of Crown Grill I headed back up to my cabin to recover before attempting to go see Beatlemaniacs tonight at 9pm. I hope I don't fall asleep from all that food!!! We have two full sea days ahead of us before returning to Fort Lauderdale. The Captain came over during dinner and advised that the ship may be rocking back and forth a bit tomorrow, but until that point the ride has been ultra smooth from where I'm standing. After five days aboard Royal Princess I can honestly say I'm looking forward to another week on her. I never left the ship in Princess Cay, St. Thomas, or St. Martin and plan on doing the same next week except to ride the Paradise Point tramway if it's open. More to come... :D Of all the pictures of all the food in all those eateries you had to post my personal trifecta of food addictions ! Scallops are my favorite seafood, I love soup and eat it all year round and I never met a steak I didn't like. My uncle had a restaurant on Wall St. that was only open for breakfast and lunch but he knew so many restaurant owners in NYC. I was introduced to lobster, steak, crab, dover sole, and so many other wonderful foods before I was 5 ! I had thought to make reservations at Sabatini's because everyone has raved about that venue but I'm changing my mind after those super yummy photos ! And thanks for all your time and effort on this thread. I have some questions but I will ask yoyosma, I really want you to take the time to enjoy your cruises and do whatever your heart desires. I recently met a couple on the Emerald Princess that ate there every night of a 10 day cruise! Glad you are having such a great time on board the Royal Dave!! caribill Posted December 6, 2013 #357 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Re: MDR MenusFor some reason, the daily MDR menus are posted at the entrance to the Horizon Reason is so people can decide if there would prefer to eat in the dining room or the buffet. This posting is done on some, but not all, of the Princess ships.

Rare Woobstr112G Posted December 6, 2013 #359 Share Posted December 6, 2013 The Beatlemaniacs played to a completely packed Princess Theater for almost 50 minutes, with most seats already filled 25 minutes before the show began. It was well worth the wait. They have a follow-up show tomorrow in the atrium. Dave; Sounds like you enjoyed the show.....:):):) Bob

dmwnc1959 Posted December 6, 2013 #361 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Last night was sort of bouncy, and it woke me up around 4:30. Rolled back over then overslept, didn't get up until after 8am. A quick breakfast at the International Cafe with a cappuccino then topside for some pictures. Little white caps all the way to the horizon. Horizon Court was packed at 9am, the Horizon Bistro not so much. View from Plaza Deck windows Topside around 9am this morning

sunsetbeachgal Posted December 6, 2013 Author #363 Share Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) Don't laugh...a cruise isn't complete for us unless we attend one of these "sales"! When we sailed on the Royal back in July we got some nice clothing..and DH always finds a hat or tee shirt that he can't live without..;) Edited December 6, 2013 by sunsetbeachgal
Bluwaterz Posted December 6, 2013 #364 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Dave, I know this question has been asked but how do you feel the Royal handles rougher seas in comparison with the Grand class? Thanks so much!

yoyosma Posted December 6, 2013 #366 Share Posted December 6, 2013 I love the Braciano bags, totes, and duffles they have at the sales. I think I have cornered the market on them.
dmwnc1959 Posted December 6, 2013 #367 Share Posted December 6, 2013 I was honored to be among 17 fellow passengers selected for a midmorning tour of the bridge. We spent about an hour being escorted by the Captain and then the 3rd Officer (Luigi). It was incredibly fascinating and informative. Wasn't aware that there was another complete Secondary Bridge on Deck 17 aft. The views were amazing as was the privilege of being among the small group allowed to For lunch I opted to try the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar again. Complimentary with a drink order (I had the Absolute Citron (1-1/2 ounce pour) was a small sampler dish of Edamame, Wakame, Egg Salad, Herring Salad, Bay Shrimp Salad. I ordered the Seafood Sampler for Two ($20) which included Lobster medallions, two oyster shooters, 2 small Chili and Lime Crab margarita, ahi tuna poke, balik salmon, creme fraiche mustard dill dressing, and brown bread. It was literally OMG good. The sampler tray has to be set on the table since it wouldn't fit on the counter, and everyone wanted to take a picture of it. Chris and Mat from our Roll Call happened to be there as well and had the Oyster Shooters. Someone ordered the oysters on the half shell and I took a picture of that as well. Merengue dance class in the Piazza was a real blast, the instructor quite the cut up, and it was well attended and so much fun to watch, as was the Gangnam Style dance!!! The Royal Afternoon Tea is being set up and it looks wonderful. I know a group from our Roll Call will be enjoying this next week. :D
