meandralph Posted December 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2013 We received an email last night from RCCL stating that we would not be allowed to enter the terminal before 1230PM and not board until after 1PM due to customs regulations. Did anyone else get this and if so, is it for real or is it a way to reduce the early boarding? We were planning on boarding by noon. Thanks for any info

Thanks for any info We got the same email for our Indy sailing right after the TA (in that situation, Customs needs to clear everyone including the entire crew plus there are Coast Guard inspections). Regardless, we showed up at the terminal about 10:45 and were on-board by 11:25. We were impressed with terminal 18 and how smoothly it operated. lauren0309 Posted December 3, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2013 I'm leaving Saturday also, but on the Independence. I never got that e-mail. Maybe a different pier? We leave from Pier 29.

I wouldn't be concerned. They have been sending that email since the sequestration started about a year ago. Plus, Royal's email sending performance has always been spotty. beigedog Posted December 3, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Ignore that email. I was on the Allure this past May and got that same email from them. We were on board eating Sorrento's pizza at 11:30. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted December 3, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) I'm leaving Saturday also, but on the Independence. I never got that e-mail. Maybe a different pier? We leave from Pier 29. Independence is docked at a different pier at Port Everglades than Oasis and Allure. Those two big ships dock at Terminal 18, in my opinion the best dock at Port Everglades. We used terminal 29 on our return and it looks like Indy will keep using 29 as long it's doing Saturday and Sunday departures (which is it's 8-day/6-day schedule until.... early next Summer?). My husband received the same email. He is of the opinion, however, that the RCCL website has been hijacked. If you look at the address where the email came from RCCL isn't even part of it. Very strange. Also, the incorrect reservation number is quoted in his email. I don't know what would happen if the attachment is opened. He didn't open it. He did contact RCCL, however, to find out whether this is a legitimate email from them but didn't hear back yet.

Ignore the email. (Unless you're one of the people who has to stop 1000 times in the terminal to take pictures and ask questions, in which case the email is correct and please follow it :p:rolleyes:)
