Cruises with 1 port stop

A few years ago I took a cruise with my husband for our anniversary. It was a cruise with only one stop in Bermuda and I loved it. Why? Because we stayed at the same location (front street) from the time we docked until sail away. I was really able to enjoy the port. I enjoyed getting off every day and walking across the street to the shops, taking the local bus to the beach and other local tourist areas. I didn't have to rush or worry about being left in Bermuda. I have not found many cruises like this lately. I have been on more port intensive cruises and as a matter of fact am going on one next month but have found that I am very tired after these. I just want to enjoy, relax, and have the time to explore at my leisure. Anyone know of a cruise line that specialize in single destination cruises?

I will check those cruise lines. I traveled on Holland America, it was a 7 day cruise from New York and I believe that we were docked on Front Street for 4 days. I believe they have changed their itinerary. I appreciate your responses.

Sadly HAL's Veendam no longer does the Bermuda cruise.

HAL was losing too much money on those cruises with the Casino not being open.

But I know what you mean about being able to dock at Front Street and just walking off and on the ship whenever you felt like it. Years ago we did similar cruises on Princess and NCL.

No one docks on Front street anymore. Celebrity cruises from NJ to Bermuda---three full days in Bermuda, docked at Kings Wharf.

That is true for the major cruise lines but not for the smaller. Here's a list of the cruise ships that will dock in Hamilton or St George or both in 2014:

Cruise Ship:..........# of visits........Docks in

Balmoral.......................1...............Ham

Insignia.........................1...............Ham

Ocean Princess............1...............Ham

Regatta.........................2..............SG/Ham

Seven Seas Navigator..1..... ........SG/Ham

Silver Spirit...................2...............SG

Silver Whisper..............1...............Ham

Wind Star......................1...............SG

Unfortunately, these visits are in either the spring or fall.

We sailed Celebrity's Zenith years ago to Bermuda and docked at Front Street and then moved to St. Georges. That was terrific. Initially that was what Veendam was supposed to have done but then HAL did the refit and she could not fit through the pass. They had to tender to St. Georges and it didn't work out well.

People liked the days when she was docked in Hamilton.

Veendam last did that itinerary in 2012. This summer she did a 35 day Voyage of the Vikings from Boston to Europe and back and did Canada/New England the rest of the spring/summer/fall season.

Bermuda is about it. most ships will stay overnight one or 2 days. the only other options with few port calls are Transatlantics. Maybe Hawai'i. but those wil be short port calls

I do have an overnight in San Francisco on my Celebrity cruise next April, but it also include port calls pretty much every day. and it's arriving mid day and leaving mid morning the next.

the mindset is, if you want to take your time or really explore, do a land vacation.
