Alaska Formal nights?

We're doing the 7 night from Vancouver next July, and am wondering which nights would be formal nights. I'd like to book a different dining experience to avoid having to dress up multiple nights. ;) We're on the Zuiderdam if that makes a difference.

Thank you. And exactly what kind of dress will we see on formal nights? The majority in tux/long gowns? shirt/tie and fancier street length? Just trying to figure out the packing scenarios. :p

The majority will be in suits with tie and fancier dresses or slacks. Lots of sparkles usually for the ladies.

Alaska cruises are more informal, though, so you can get away with a bit.

Would it likely be the same for the Westerdam out of Seattle - sea day and Glacier Bay day?

Sat - departure

Sun - at sea

Mon - Juneau

Tues - Glacier Bay

Wed - Sitka

Thurs - Ketchikan

Fri - Victoria

Sat - return

We have done your cruise.

Formal nights will be the first sea day after you leave Seattle and the evening of Ketchikan since you leave that port at 1 PM.

The last several years we have not seen people dress up on formal nights like they used to.

Very few tuxedos and long gowns. Lots of men wearing suits and sports jackets with ties. Many ladies wore dressy slacks or skirts with fancy tops.

Thanks so much for all of your help! With all the snow and ice today, Alaska isn't what I am dreaming of just yet. LOL But if I know that a suit/tie and skirt or slacks with a glitzy top will do, that works just fine for us!
