Scribilo Posted January 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2014 On the Oasis January 25th and this will be our first cruise in 3 years. We have been on 15 other cruises and have never needed a reservation for a show. We would finish dinner and make our way to the show and never had a problem. Your input is appreciated. Aquahound Posted January 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2014 It's not mandatory, but it does help. Without reservations, you won't be allowed in until 10 minutes prior. Not a huge deal for the main theater, but it is for the Aqua Theater and sometimes the Comedy Club.

Thanks Reservations are suggested for Oasis and Allure. Because of the sheer number of guests, they need to show more than just two performances of a show. If you cannot make any reservations at this late date using Royal's website, you have two options: Go to Studio B as soon as you board and try to make reservations there. Use the standby line at the show venues. This line is allowed to enter the venue about 10 minutes before the performance starts.
wrp96 Posted January 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2014 The main theater shows seemed to be fine without reservations, but the comedy shows you definitely need reservations, and unless you want to sit in the splash zone, the same for the Aquatheater as well. Scribilo Posted January 11, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Thanks for the input. We have booked most of the shows that we wanted to see, some not our first choice in terms of time but no worries, we're on vacation!
ehfl Posted January 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2014 You can spend a few seconds online pointing and clicking, or you can wait in line on vacation for tickets. The choice is yours.
cb at sea Posted January 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Unless you are on Oasis/Allure, you don't need reservations to shows. Especially if you have traditional seating....the shows are still schedule around those 2 times on all the other ships!
johnstoc13 Posted January 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Based on our last Allure cruise, I would say its worth it. As most have said, it's up to you, but to guarantee you'll see what you want to see, book them. Comedy shows always fill up fast, and aqua theatre shows do too. If you change your mind on board, who cares. Just do what you want instead and forget about your reservations. Some plan and others go with the flow. Decide what's best for your vacation and go from there! Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks Highly recommended on Oasis / Allure or you could be disappointed. Only other ship / show we have ever reserved either was Sat Night Fever on Liberty Med. Only takes a few min... Enjoy your cruise. http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/en_US/pdf/showtimes/showtimes_OA.pdf
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted January 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I'd add that the ice show can be problematic without reservations unless you are willing to wait to the last minute. Then you may have to sit behind a column or in another less than desirable seat position. The easiest ice show to get in without reservations is the five o'clock show and the ice show for children "How to Train a Dragon."
