Wine-O Posted January 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Do you still get a glass of champagne when boarding? Yup, and or a mimosa.
20pluscruises Posted January 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2014 It was hit or miss on our cruise...found out lots (including us) didn't...but others did. Not sure what happened????????
neverbeenhere Posted January 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I believe that I can guarantee that you will not get "champagne" upon embarkation. Wine of the sparking variety.
lovey1103 Posted January 16, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I believe that I can guarantee that you will not get "champagne" upon embarkation. Wine of the sparking variety. Good enough for me. Thanks everyone.
Wine-O Posted January 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2014 It was hit or miss on our cruise...found out lots (including us) didn't...but others did. Not sure what happened???????? We embarked Reflection in Civitavecchia on Deck 2, and I asked why no champagne? We were told it was up on Decks 4 & 5, and I can see why. It was too congested of an area to hand out the glasses of bubbly down there in that confined area.
WestLakeGirl Posted January 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If you don't see waiters with trays full of glasses of sparkling wine/mimosas/orange juice just ask since they may be on a different deck for your sailing, even up on the pool deck in some cases
simon stingray Posted January 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Do you still get a glass of champagne when boarding? Thanks to the Premium beverage package I always have 2:D
BosoxI Posted January 16, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Believe me, it's a nice gesture by X, but it surely isn't worth chasing up and down the ship to track down a glass of cheap sparkling wine.
Grandmaanne7 Posted January 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Good enough for me. Thanks everyone. Sparkling wine is good enough for me too! It's a lovely gesture that says "Welcome aboard. Here's to a great cruise!" I'll drink to that any day! :D
kevinyork Posted January 16, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Its a nice touch that I have not had on other cruise lines. To me it say 'the vacation has started-official'. Nice little touches are what makes a cruise special and differentiates between cruise lines. Unfortunately its the little things that the bean counters tend to cut without realising the impact these touches make.
olemissreb Posted January 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 16, 2014 We had it on our Alaska cruise last year. I love that extra touch and it was extra nice this time since my mom was with us and we got to toast to a wonderful vacation together. As someone else said, it's that wonderful little touch that makes me love Celebrity so much. It really does say "Welcome aboard & have a great vacation!" Patrick IL. Posted January 16, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 16, 2014 We have been on 11 X cruises and have been met and offered sparkling wine while boarding on all of them. Enoy!
boogs Posted January 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I also appreciate the cold cloths and drinking water when arriving back to the ship on a hot day of touring, or the hot chocolate on a cold day. Classy!
Chitown12562 Posted January 16, 2014 #15 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I also appreciate the cold cloths and drinking water when arriving back to the ship on a hot day of touring, or the hot chocolate on a cold day. Classy! They had loungers out on the pier as well when we came back. I thought this was very nice and more than what was offered on our NCL cruises. fortinweb Posted January 16, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) I also appreciate the cold cloths and drinking water when arriving back to the ship on a hot day of touring, or the hot chocolate on a cold day. Classy! They had loungers out on the pier as well when we came back. I thought this was very nice and more than what was offered on our NCL cruises. On our Med cruise last summer they had carpeting, easy chairs and sofas, and a portable cover so people could sit in the shade in this "lounge" area while enjoying their cold water or punch. You could see the looks of envy on the faces of the people returning to the Carnival ship docked beside us. Felt good knowing they must have been thinking to themselves: "I wish my ship did that!" :D Edited January 16, 2014 by fortinweb
perico1206 Posted January 17, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 17, 2014 We love how Celebrity welcomes back their guests from every port and it makes us feel special in a way that has never been duplicated by any other cruise line....except Azamara.
