timbom Posted February 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Never sailed either of these ships. Which one has a better WOW factor. I know that is a RCL term but after all that is the parent company.
zoncom Posted February 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Neither one has the WOW factor. If you are seeking that factor, go for the two newest X ships; Silhoutte or Reflections.Amongst the most beautiful at sea with food to match.

I know that is a RCL term but after all that is the parent company. Hi, most Celebrity cruisers would tell you the S class ships have the "WOW" factor. Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse, Sihlouette and Reflection. They are the newest ships. CENTURY is the only ship left in her own class....she is the smallest ship in the fleet...70,000 tons. She arrived in 1995. Constellation is one of the "M Class" ships.....along with Millennium, Infinity and Summit. She is about 90,000 tons. Connie came into the fleet in 2002. The S class are about 122,000 tons and they came into the fleet in 2008...first one up until 2012 when the last one arrived. Not sure what you are looking for in a ship....if you like lots of bells and whistles? I would say S class.
Holly2 Posted February 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2014 The Connie has the T pool which is a huge plus and more restaurants.
baldercash Posted February 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2014 Of the 2 the Connie is the most impressive. The M Class ships are very nice ships the Century is nice but not as big so less and smaller venues on board then the M class. I depends on the venue. I myself would sail an M class ship at a moments notice but to sail Century it would need to be priced very well and have a great itinerary I could only get by sailing Century. So the M class would have the Wow and the Century more of a Ah.
BettyCruiser Posted February 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2014 If you are talking strictly ship WOW factor, the Connie would beat the Century since it's a bit bigger and has more venues and options. Both ships have great service although I give the edge to the Century staff as they are a tighter community. IMO none of the Celebrity ships are designed to WOW. After experiencing the Promenade or Centrum on RCI, the Piazza on Princess, the Atrium on Carnival and the Grand Lobby on Disney I'm not Wowed by any Celebrity ship. Rare Cruise Raider Posted February 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2014 I agree that the S class ships are in a class all their own (pun intended) -- they sparkle!! However, for the WOW factor between the Connie and the Century, you definitely want to choose the Connie. The M class ships have a gorgeous indoor pool area and are a bit more modern than the Century. While both are nice, I would probably choose the Connie if you like the itineraries on both. I know that is a RCL term but after all that is the parent company. Like the others said, the wow factor on Celebrity comes with Solstice Class. But of those 2, I like Constellation much better than Century. I really like their M Class ships. Century, on the hand, wasn't one of my more memorable cruises. I have sailed Century 6 times and leaving next week for #7 and #8 (going on a b2b) and I have a feeling these will be my last 2 times to sail her:(.......she was my first Celebrity ship and each time is memorable for me. I will miss her for sure........

jgnova Posted February 10, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 10, 2014 I guess if you're using the Royal "WOW", then the S-class is it, as so many others have said. On the other hand, if your definition of WOW is like DW and I see it, then Century, with its classic elegance has more. We've been on Summit, which is pretty close to Constellation, and all of the ships in that class have been updated with multiple food venues while Century's choices are limited. We'll be joining Lois on Century in a few days because we want to enjoy the old ship before she leaves the fleet. j
