Andromeda93 Posted February 11, 2014 #26 Share Posted February 11, 2014 I just wish they'd quite advertising the 2014 voyages and hurry up and release the rest of 2015. Most of the 'competition' has done so and I'm impatient to see the offerings for Q3-Q4 2015. Someone indicated elsewhere on this board that the second half of 2015 would be released sometime in Feb. Sure hope so. JimandStan, your brochures remind me so much of Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr's interactions on the SS Constitution in 'An Affair to Remember,' when ladies traveled with trunks and a man would NEVER go to dinner without his jacket! Thanks for the great images.
knitter Posted February 12, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted February 12, 2014 I love the old posters and stuff- and I'm glad some companies are still supporting the post office! Wouldn't one or two a month help bolster the price for "antiquities"- there would be less of them!!!
Rare PaulMCO Posted February 13, 2014 #28 Share Posted February 13, 2014 I got 4 brochures yesterday. 3 small and one large. 2 were duplicates.
orchestrapal Posted February 13, 2014 #29 Share Posted February 13, 2014 I got 4 brochures yesterday. 3 small and one large. 2 were duplicates. We also got 4 from O yesterday added to the three from Regent. Our trash can ate well !
senorjim Posted February 13, 2014 #30 Share Posted February 13, 2014 My wife called and cancelled the delivery of the beautiful brochures. Now they come addressed to me. :) I will do the same. Jim Sent from my iPhone using Forums
buggins0402 Posted February 13, 2014 #31 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Once every three months would be perfect for me. What would be nice is the large edition when new itineraries are announced and smaller editions (about the size of the "winter edition" that we received this week) every three months. The little "targeted" brochures for certain geographic areas or class of ship just go right in the trash.
sailorgirl Posted February 16, 2014 #32 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I also AGREE. I feel like it's a terrible waste and a great deal of duplication. Obviously, we cruisers are paying for it. And, I too are suddenly getting more Regent brochures.
2travelers Posted February 16, 2014 #33 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I'm with you Lyn. And who do you think gets to drag out all these HUGE brochures to the recycling center  Ronnie
Rare ronrick1943 Posted February 17, 2014 #34 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I also like looking at them, however until this post I never really realize how many I get in a week. Rick
newbie60 Posted February 18, 2014 #35 Share Posted February 18, 2014 The large brochure entitled 2014-2015 Winter Collection that we received the other day took the cake: Except for the cover, every single page, itinerary, price, etc. was identical to the one we received months ago! I still had the old one next to the computer since we have two bookings that are described in the book - yep! they are on the same page(s) in the new one. This is waste at it's finest! Mr Luxury Posted February 18, 2014 #36 Share Posted February 18, 2014 No wonder there is an 18% service charge on the drinks price.
katiestan1 Posted February 25, 2014 #37 Share Posted February 25, 2014 I tried opting out of their brochures on catalogchoice.org but Oceania has not acknowledged receipt of this request so i called Oceania and asked to be taken off the mailing list and the guy said it would take 4-6 weeks. We will see. I received 10 brochures in 4 weeks.:mad:
YoHoHo Posted February 26, 2014 #38 Share Posted February 26, 2014 No wonder there is an 18% service charge on the drinks price. For some the 3% above many other lines could be an issue. Here 15% is the now 'respectable' low and 20% in higher end venues. Personally I don't understand that as prices clearly higher and a % is a %. But I think there is a 'keep up with the Jones can afford to pay' plays into it. I find it more amazing reading on other boards defenders of the forced 15% gratuity on self-serve wine bars & mini-bars. Sorry, off topic I know
kiawahdon Posted February 26, 2014 #39 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Most other cruise lines rely almost entirely on the internet to tout soft selling sailings and new released itineraries. This seems a hell of a lot cheaper than O's approach. Plus it saves forests, lots of money, and doesn't alienate consumers with a flood of brochures that are destined for the trash. Management needs to reassess their current approach IMHO.
BillK400 Posted February 26, 2014 #40 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Have received a brochure every day this week in the mail. Have received 7 brochures in the past 10 business days. I have tried to get them stopped, so far no success.
