beau20 Posted February 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Currently booked on a short 5 day cruise in Aqua and are considering booking an inside on the preceding 4 day on the same ship. When you change rooms, do you have to totally pack clothes and unpack in new room or can you move the hanging clothes to the new room? What do you do with the luggage? Do you move it or can you get Celebrity to move it? Can you stay on the ship or do you have to disembark? Thanks in advance for your replies. Cloths on hangers get moved as they are . Drawers usually can be moved with unpacking them. You'll have to go thru customs when you arrive in port. Celebrity will give you exact info as to what you'll have to do on turn around day.
cruisegirl1 Posted February 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2014 We’ve had several B2B and have had to change cabins every time. If we stay on the ship for turn around day - We find it easiest to hang as much as we can, and then put the other clothes in the suitcase and simply roll it to the new cabin. We speak to the new room attendant beforehand and if the previous occupants vacate timely, the room will be serviced first. You will be permitted in the cabin areas prior to all the cabins being released for all passengers. We roll the cases ourselves so that we can get everything unpacked and not have to wait till the crew has time to move the cases. The crew will move the hanging clothes and put them in the closet for you. We've never been permitted to move the actual drawers. I’ve read that others pack up everything and ask the crew to move them. If we plan to be off the ship all day ( likely before the new room is ready) , we have the crew move the suitcases and clothes. Wine-O Posted February 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2014 They will give you guidelines a day or two before hand on where to go, where to meet, customs, room keys, etc. Basically, we had to pack our suitcases, and they gave us special changing cabin luggage tags. We left all the hanging items which they moved that way.
Northern Aurora Posted February 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2014 We tend to do B2B cruises, and find that the procedure on the turnaround day can be quite different. The one consistent item is that when passengers who will be disembarking receive their disembarkation packets the B2B passengers will receive a succinct letter with instructions as to how the turnaround day will be handled. beau20 Posted February 19, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Thanks to all of you for your responses. Like the idea of leaving all of the hanging clothes as is and packing the others in the suitcases. Will meet our A2 room steward during the first cruise and coordinate with them for transfer. Thanks again for your help.
cruisetimeforme Posted February 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Inside to Aqua class, now that's worth packing up a bit! We've been taken off the ship as a group after the ships been cleared of previous passengers thru customs and then back onboard. It's a great feeling to know at the end of the first sailing YOU get to stay onboard! On our last sailing they made an announcent to the crew reminding them they had XX time prior to new pax arriving and to put on that great smile/attitude vibe we so love them for. It was interesting also they sprayed something thruout guest relations area. We were in the area at the time and hopped into elevator, who knows what that stuff was? I know I didn't want to inhale it. Enjoy your turnaround day
