Jamman54, we are taking a 7 day May 31 on the Fantasy. Where is a good place to have an informal meet and greet for our small roll call? Maybe 10-15 people at the most.

Also what is a good time on embarkation day? I was thinking before safety drill or right after. Do you or anyone else on the thread have any good ideas.

Thank you for the detailed review with pictures. Looks like you are having a lot of fun so far. I'm also from NJ and can't wait for our cruise on the Fantasy in August. Our daughter's high school graduation celebration before college.

Jamman , thanks for the review. I am leaving in a few days on the Fantasy. A last minute getaway. I was glad to see a picture of the pool bar. I haven't been able to find any till I saw yours.

I had to laugh when reading your review and you mentioned your M&G was going to be at the port side pool bar. We have a small roll call also I am suggested a M&G at the same pool bar. Looks like it will be the perfect place.

Looking forward to the rest of your review.

Thanks for reading and Enjoy your cruise and your M&G. The port side pool bar is the perfect place for it. For some reason it gets less traffic than the Starboard side Lido Pool.

I prefer to have an informal small M&G at an outside bar. The best time on embarkation day seems to be before the muster drill, say around 2 pm. Most muster drills happen around 3:30pm. I find that for sail away, most people like to do their own thing.

I am really enjoying this review. It is over six months until my next cruise so this gives me a little bit of that cruise feel. I look forward to the rest of the story.:)

Thanks for reading. Enjoy your cruise on the Miracle. We had three GREAT cruises on her!!

Hey Jamman! Loving your review....i love how you walk us through the steps like we're walking with you!!! I will be on the Ecstasy at the end of March for the 2nd year in a row. I haven't had the chance to sail any other class, but do like the smaller ship for now!! Sounds like you had a great time and can't wait to read more!!

Thanks for your comments. I try to make it seem you are traveling along with me.

I have been considering a solo cruise also. My hubby and I are both HS teachers in different districts so often do not have the same Spring Break week. I am very social but I wonder if I would like it??? Enjoying your review!

Thanks for reading. If your hubby is ok with you sailing solo, I say go for it. Just make sure you book one with the no single supplement rate. There are plenty of those out there!!

What a dreary first day! But looks like you had beautiful weather on the second. I am so sick of winter and all the snow. It's finally starting to melt but I hear we're supposed to get more on Wednesday???

Hi Splendor! See you in 79 days :)

I hear you Jen!! We haven't had any snow in about 5 days so we are over due!! :D

Thank you so much for this, we are headed out on the Fantacy in 5 days and its great to get a sneak peek at what we have to look forward too!

Thanks so much for the awesome detailed review! We leave on the Fantasy in 4 days!!! This is making me even more excited!

Hey!! You guys are short timers, so I don't think I'll be done before you leave. Have a GREAT cruise, and let us know what you thought when you get back.

Thanks for the review! Your pictures of the Fantasy put the Paradise to shame. She looks to be much better appointed.

Thanks for reading. I'm not sure, but I don't think the Paradise has ever received the Evolution of Fun upgrades.

Thanks for the review. I am really enjoying it. We will be on the Fantasy for New Years. We can't wait.

New Years is such a great time to cruise, though expensive. Thanks for reading.

Hello once again. Time to tell you about my day spent in Nassau, The Bahamas. Enjoy.

FN171.jpg

The light from the Bow Camera on the TV woke me up around 6:30, and since the Fun Times stated that the sunrise would be at 6:45, I got dressed and headed up to the Lido Deck…..

FN175.JPG

The weather was not supposed to be that great here today, since they are calling for scattered showers all day. When I got outside I could see that low clouds on the horizon were obscuring the sunrise, but with a little patience, I may be rewarded. I noticed that the omelet station had opened, so I went over and got my omelets and went back outside to sit down and eat. Sure enough, I got my first peek of the sun…..

Time to head back to the cabin to get ready to go ashore, and on the way I snapped this photo of the entrance to Spa Carnival. That’s as close as I ever got to the place…..

FN214.JPG

I hung around in the cabin for awhile, since I was not in a hurry to get off the ship. Recently, there are times when I just stay aboard here in Nassau. During my cruising history I have been here many, many times. Add to the fact, that before I became a cruise addict, I did quite a few fly in vacations here, spending time at hotels at Cable Beach and Paradise Island. My favorite was the Paradise Island Resort and Casino, owned by Merv Griffen, that would eventually be torn down and replaced by the Atlantis. How many of you know, or remember, that Carnival owned a hotel at Cable Beach called the Crystal Palace, and that Carnival also owned an airline that could get you there?

So I have seen and done just about everything there is to do or see in Nassau. To me, you haven’t experienced Nassau until you have stood three deep on Bay Street, 2 am on New Year’s Day, to watch the START of that yearly spectacle, the Junkanoo Parade. That’s Nassau!!!

But I’m not planning to stay on board today. I originally thought about trying one of the “newer” Carnival excursions here, Balmoral Island. In the past, that island was known as Blackbeard’s Cay and I remembered that the excursion there was pretty good. Carnival sells the Balmoral excursions in quite a few varieties, with lunch, without lunch, stingrays, dolphins ,etc. I decided against going because of the negative things that I have read and heard about Balmoral Island at the present time. Long transit times to and from the island on sub-par uncomfortable boats. Then having to wait LONG periods of time to get your lunch and drinks. That and the fact that the weather was to be iffy turned me off.

Now if you have already booked this excursion on line, please don’t go running to cancel it. My opinions are just mine, my likes and dislikes different then yours. Try it out and then report back to the boards on how it went. I know that someday in the near future, I will try it out.

Today I will get off the ship, stretch the legs, take some pictures of the ships and port, then take a stroll up to Junkanoo Beach. So around 10:30 am, after the rush has long since departed, I casually leave the ship. Welcome to Nassau!! (Again)…..

My favorite Bahamian Beer, Kalik…..

FN255.JPG

The people here are SO friendly. The person doing the cooking fried up a whole platter of conch fritters, and gave some to everybody for free. They were so good. I ordered a seafood platter for lunch, which he prepared for me literally 15 ft. away. It was unbelievably good!!.......

FN258.JPG

A little after 1 pm, and 8 Kalik’s later, the clouds came rolling in, and we began to to have some light rain showers. That was my cue to start to head back to the ship. While walking back I took this shot looking down Bay Street towards the center of town…..
