hansi Posted March 17, 2014 #26 Share Posted March 17, 2014 The dining room breakfast menu doesn't really change but then Princess is very flexible when it comes to changing or exchanging menu items or ordering something "off menu." If you want eggs Benedict, just make the request the night before. Tell your waitstaff you want to order something for breakfast and he or she will bring over the Table Captain. Same for lunch or dinner: you can pre-order what you want. The buffet has a variety of breakfast items, some of which change daily. What's offered depends on the chef as sometimes one item that's on most Princess ships isn't on another. Which is a little strange but true. There are always scrambled eggs, friend eggs, hard-boiled eggs and made-to-order omelets. The omelets have to be ordered. Just ask one of the people behind the counter. Sometimes, there are a couple of different types of scrambled eggs, sometimes eggs Benedict (not very good) or eggs Florentine (also not very good.) There's hash, at least a couple of types of sausages, bacon and ham. A variety of fresh fruit, cereals both hot and cold, etc. The poached eggs (to order) are very good and fresh. hansi Posted March 17, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 17, 2014 The omelet station is a corner of one of the counters nearest the cooking area. I suspect they will make a fried egg if you ask, but not sure. Fried eggs are always available, I usually wait till they bring out fresh ones because they congeal quickly. smilz Posted March 18, 2014 #28 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Years ago the MDR featured a breakfast parfait that was fabulous, Anybody see one recently? I've gotten ones from IC but they were not anywhere near as good and DH likes to eat breakfast in the MDR.
Gimer Posted March 18, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Earlier Emerald Princess cruise, met a lady that would only ate egg whites. She spoke to the Horizon Chef and she got fried whites and poached whites on request. She was happy as a lark.

tinatark Posted March 22, 2014 #32 Share Posted March 22, 2014 I remember a time when you could enjoy breakfast on the Lido deck and there was a person on deck with a bunch of waffle irons, cooking to order. Do they still do that? Just off the Ruby - the Pizza/Ice Cream station is a waffle station until 10 am each morning.

caribill Posted March 23, 2014 #36 Share Posted March 23, 2014 On the emerald now... Have yet to see a waffle station anywhere but in buffet with regular syrup Some ships do it at the Pizza station, some at the hanberger stand and most at the buffet. You should be able to ask for sugar-free syrup if you want it. Also should be some chocolate syrup.

I use it all the time when getting waffles or pancakes.
Rocknie Posted March 23, 2014 #38 Share Posted March 23, 2014 One of my favorite breakfast items is fresh pineapple. If it is something simple that they have on hand like that, you don't have to order the day before. Sailed on the Island to PC last October... had fresh pineapple in breakfast buffet everyday. I was even able to get pineapple juice in the morning.
prerna Posted April 26, 2014 #39 Share Posted April 26, 2014 Does the breakfast buffet also include the daily speciality that is served in the mdr? Also does the buffet have a live counter for pouched eggs, egg florentine and eggs benedict ? Does the mdr give anything extra as compared to the buffet? hansi Posted April 26, 2014 #40 Share Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) I don't go to the MDR for breakfast but I can tell you that you can order poached eggs at the buffet. There is usually a wait of about 5 minutes, not sure about eggs benedict and suchlike as these are served on different days and are laid out in the buffet. Pmorton3360 Posted April 26, 2014 #41 Share Posted April 26, 2014 We usually eat in MDR. I always get a bowl of strawberries. Start my day off. Also , try getting the eggs Benedict sauce on the side. I find this works well. Never noticed it was cold. And they make it fresh instead of one that has been sitting.

Also does the buffet have a live counter for pouched eggs, egg florentine and eggs benedict ?Does the mdr give anything extra as compared to the buffet? Eggs Benedict in the buffet are really not good. The fried eggs and made to order omelettes are so much better! Breakfast in the MDR is very nice. Eggs Benedict are much better there... As far as getting anything extra... I never tried ordering any non-breakfast items, as food is plentiful (usually too much).
