Recommended Hotel near Port Everglades

Hi there,

Looking for a recommended hotel near the port for the night before departure and the night after the return for Oasis in May. Something not over priced preferred.

I can highly recommend the Hilton FL Marina. I have stayed there twice and always found it very reasonable.

Jo :)

We LOVED the Hilton Marina as well! So convenient Great hotel for a night before the cruise. Great views of Port Everglades, great pool area, nice rooms with balconies, waking distance to shops and restaurants, including Walgreens for last minute purchases, and their shuttle will have you at the port in 2-3 minutes!

We've used SpringHill Suites, Dania Beach several times. They have free airport shuttle and free cruise port shuttle.

Looks like a nice choice - are there restaurants and shops around were I can buy my two bottles of wine. Thanks for the info. :D

If you're driving, I recommend the Fairfield Inn on Griffin Road. They have a package that includes your room, breakfast, parking and transport to the pier for a price that's less than what you'd pay for parking alone at the pier.

We stayed at Springhill Suites 2 years ago and will again in March. Across the street is a big shopping Center with restaurants and stores. I think there is a K Mart and maybe BJ's for wine. I believe the name is Oakwood Plaza or something like that.

We have always stayed at The Westin Beach resort. We have found the pricing to be very good and it is right on the beach. It is also a short walk to a few restaurants: Bubba Gump Shrimp and Hooters I know for sure. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel and a CVS a block or 2 away.

Another vote for the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Marina!

Good location, lots of choices for dinner nearby, reasonably priced.

They had a table set up to make reservations for the shuttle in the morning to the ship. Think it was $6 per person, through a private company.

That is correct-it is called Oakwood Plaza. Big Lots is where I purchased my wine to take on the Liberty OS with me! There is also a BJ's, K-Mart, Old Navy, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King, Chipolte, and many other small stores. If you happen to have a car, the Hollywood Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is about a 15 minute drive right down the street. We went there and had a blast. There are a ton of outdoor restaurants and plenty of shopping there too.

We've stayed at that Springhill Suites as well as both Hyatt House and Hyatt Place all of which are in the same complex and have been quite pleased with all of them Oakwood Plaza can pretty much accommodate any needs you might have

Hi Tapi!

Thinking of booking the Hilton for our upcoming Freedom cruise and had a couple of questions:

How far is walking distance? We will need to purchase some soda, water and wine and maybe some spirits....can we walk to do all this?

For Dinner options, were they mid range - not fast food but not a 5 star dinner either. (traveling with 2 14 yo girls and they are picky!) :)

Is it better to take a cab to the port from the hotel or pay for the shuttle per person at $6 each?

Thanks so much for your insight!

Walgreens is across the street. Total Wine and other liquor stores are a few blocks west. There are lots of midrange dinner options, several on the same block. Taxi will only cost about $10 for the carload and is more convenient than shuttle.

Walgreens is on the opposite side of the street, no more than 5 minutes away. It should be a very easy walk (we did it pushing a stroller :)). It's your typical Walgreen's, and I believe they do sell wine but I'm not 100% sure.

17th Street is a busy street and there are plenty of places to eat within a fairly short walking distance. There are several midrange chain restaurants as well as some fast food places.

We were very satisfied with the shuttle service. Quick and convenient. Hotel staff picked up our bags in our room and loaded them directly on the shuttle. They were ready to go when we were ready to go and it wasn't crowded. We shared the van with only 2 other passengers. It's such a short ride. There were other passengers waiting for a taxi when we left but I couldn't tell you how long they had been waiting.

Have a great cruise!
