royal girl Posted April 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Something has come up with my husband's work and I might have to cancel our cruise! I am just about over 100 days away and I've only put down the deposit. I am assuming final payment will be due soon... Can I move our deposit to another cruise? Since I haven't paid it off yet, I'm guessing all I would lose is the $200 deposit if we just canceled altogether. (We booked on our last cruise, so deposit was only $200) I did buy insurance. I won't call my TA until I know for sure, so just wondering what my options are.

You can also change your booking to another cruise, without losing any money. However, your travel agent may have cancel or change fees. hgmizzou Posted April 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2014 If it's not final payment yet, I thought you got 100% of your deposit back. Also, I know that in the past, I have been able to transfer a deposit from one cruise to another. Hope you don't have to cancel!

reallyitsmema Posted April 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2014 They will lose the OBC if they cancel the reservation though so best bet would be to move it to another cruise. Check with your TA for fees though since some do charge fees.
39august Posted April 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Be sure to use the word "transfer" to move this reservation to a different cruise which RCI will allow you to do. That way you will keep the same reservation number and the OBC you got for booking while on board a cruise. I have done this several times. royal girl Posted April 24, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Thank you for the replies. I'll see what happens; I'm just nervous that final payment will probably be due soon and I don't want to pay it if we can't go cuz then what? Too bad we have to have jobs! haha
