I will be going on my first Carnival Cruise and am enjoying learning about the different types of ship in the fleet and what makes each class of ship unique.

I thought it might be interesting to find out which ship or class of ship most people prefer.

Conquest class, but I really also loved the Fantasy class ship, Sensation, that was my first Carnival cruise.

I would not hesitate to book a Fantasy class ship, if she had 6 or 7 day cruises.

Because I have to do airfare to the cruise departure port, it is not worth my while to do shorter cruises. Since I am paying to fly to Florida or wherever, I might as well be on a longer cruise.

What I love about the conquest class ships, are those decks off both sides of the atrium on deck three. Love the peace and quiet out there.

Spirit class, specifically legend. It's such an easy ship to get around and even when is full to capacity it doesn't ever feel crowded

Spirit class are the best. Been on the Pride and Miracle and they never seemed crowded plus the bowling alley balconies are to die for :D!

I love the Conquest class perhaps because it was the first class we sailed on.

The Magic was awesome, but sooo big. I need more than 7 days to fit all she has to offer in!

My all time favorite class though... Is always whichever one I am sailing on next :) .... Which leads us back to Conquest class!

Valor in July for round 2 :)

Conquest class, because it is the only class and ship that I have sailed in Carnival's fleet. (Liberty)

I have mostly sailed with Celebrity, and have reached elite status with them, but have also sailed with Princess a few times and Norwegian twice.

While I have only been on Carnival once, on the Liberty, I have to say it was one of the best cruises I have ever been on. It did take place in 2009, so I know that changes have taken place, but at that time, I was totally blown away by the variety of food available on the ship, and the menu in the MDR was so appealing that it was hard to narrow down a choice. But the food in the MDR was almost always excellent and as good as if not better than the other lines I have been on.

I do hope to go on another Carnival cruise with my daughter some day, as we do both have the best cruise vacations together. She encouraged me to come on to CC tonight to put my vote in.

I voted Triumph class because the triumph is my favorite ship so far, but I'm hoping that next month, my new favorite will be the Dream class :D

Ditto...the Triumph was awesome! Except we're not cruising this year.:( But next year we will!:D

I voted for Dream Class. My first cruise was on the Sensation in a balcony and while it was a great cruise, I just wanted bigger. The second cruise was on Dream in a cove balcony and I liked it a lot more.. Not so much for the newness but bigger casino and more slots and more areas to stroll around. My next cruise is in 2 weeks on the Sunshine, again balcony but mid size from my 2 previous cruises. Next year I am hoping to try the Liberty. I just know that I love Carnival.

Spirit Class

Take the ships tonnage (weight of water displaced by the ship) and divide that by the number of passengers. Spirit Class has the most room (per ton) per passenger. And when you sail on it, you can see the difference.

Legend, Pride and Spirit in that order.

Looking at the poll results thus far, Spirit Class is the leader by a good margin. DW and I have 18 CCL cruises with 19 in 3 weeks, but never sailed a Spirit Class. Guess we will have to book 1 to see why everyone seems to like these ships.:D

There are none of the "you can't get there from here" decks. You don't get stuck at the MDR and have to go up or down...

Nice Serenity area. Only Fantasy class ships have the nice umbrellas though, wish they all did.
