DarthGrady Posted May 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2014 I was on Enchantment over the weekend, here are some random observations, feel free to chime in with any questions: Everything went well, the weather was a little hit-or-miss. We had rain in Nassau on Saturday, and high winds. The winds caused us to miss Coco Cay Sunday. The pool deck staff did well ejecting kids in the Solarium. Park Café was good, as is usual. We had an excellent experience in Chops on Friday. The service in the DL and CL was great (Catalina is still in the CL, Carlington is in the DL). MDR service was quick and the food quality was high. I did a full pictorial review on her back in November if anyone wants to check it out: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=40715178#post40715178 Here are some pictures of our cabin, it was 2021 on deck 2. The bathroom and shower were both pretty small. Our room steward did a great job though.
DarthGrady Posted May 21, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted May 21, 2014 The past guest party was lightly attended, there were only about 500 past guests on board (57 Diamond, 25 D+, 2 PC). As we were pulling into Nassau, I noticed the Carnival Splendor was in port with us. It's always nice to see a new ship, even with her somewhat checkered past. Stay1978 Posted May 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2014 We are on her this coming weekend. Hopefully our weather will be better and we won't miss Coco Cay. Is Haines Magic still on board or something new? Our last two cruises have had Haines magic so we are hoping they are on a break. Is that the younger guy and the blonde girl? If it is, they were still on board. On the last morning there were two crew people at the debarkation lounge talking to a few of the frequent guests. One of the other passengers said they were the magic act.
kruzerci Posted May 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2014 I like that towel on the bed! Was it from gifts and gear?
DarthGrady Posted May 21, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted May 21, 2014 I thought this was sort of neat. The Enchantment allowed the closest look I've ever gotten to the mooring equipment of a ship. The gates were open to the forward section of the exterior promenade on deck 5, so I checked it out.
DarthGrady Posted May 21, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted May 21, 2014 I like that towel on the bed! Was it from gifts and gear? That was our D+ gift. I tried to change it to a bottle of wine before the cruise since we got the towel last time, but it didn't go through.

Alright. I guess I'll have to wait one more cruise for that one ;).

I missed the show last time. :( Does anybody out there know how long the performers are usually on a ship? Brighty1 Posted May 21, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 21, 2014 Thanks for sharing your cruise experience on EOS and inviting questions. I am looking to sail this ship and had a question or two. I have read there is a new menu in the Chops Restaurant on some ships. Does this apply to EOS? Is there a restaurant open in the Solarium the first day or do everyone eat in the Windjammer? Last question, which makes it three (lol)...first day... If you ate in the main dining room for dinner, did you notice if shorts were worn. I know that luggage arrives late sometimes. Absolutely love you previous review of EOS. Thanks again.

Absolutely love you previous review of EOS. Thanks again. As Bob pointed out, yes, the Park Cafe is open in the Solarium on Embarkation day. It's a nice alternative to the packed-to-the-rafters Windjammer. We ate at Chops on the first night, so I didn't see the main dining room. However, the dress code is very relaxed on the first night for the reason you mentioned. I have seen shorts on the first night on other cruises, they were allowed in. Lastly, EN's Chops is still on the old menu. I was told that they'll be going to the new one in about two weeks, no exact date though.

DarthGrady Posted May 21, 2014 Author #21 Share Posted May 21, 2014 More pics: The crew had a grill set up on the pool deck for the Nassau sail away party. They were cooking BBQ chicken wings that were pretty good. The Majesty pulled up next to us on Saturday night in Nassau. It became all but certain that we wouldn't be making Coco Cay. They offered a galley tour on Sunday morning for D+ and PC members.
DarthGrady Posted May 21, 2014 Author #22 Share Posted May 21, 2014 They had a nice little spread for us after the tour with mimosas.
wpxstar Posted May 21, 2014 #23 Share Posted May 21, 2014 Which bar did you find to be the the most enjoyable on the ship? Taking into account ambiance, music, etc. Is there a "prefered" bar or pretty much all the same?
cruisegirl1 Posted May 21, 2014 #24 Share Posted May 21, 2014 So Darth - Do you think someone accidently left that equipment area door open? I've never seen that kind of access. Was staff there with you? Thanks for the comprehensive review. We sail in a few weeks in a Panoramic cabin. I am anxious to try this type of cabin, unless RCCL wants to upgrade me to one of the many open balcony cabins. :) m
