Carnival Gift Card - 10% Bonus Offer

Recommended Posts

I don't know much about computers...I've tried...400.00 & $400 & $400.00. I get a message telling me "your card value does not meet the minimum value. The minimum value is $10."

When I called the suggested phone number. I was told that for e-cards I would have to do them $200 at a time.

I got that message the first time too, removed the $ sign and it worked. Still waiting on the emails, but like someone wrote maybe their "system" is getting overwhelmed.

That's not true as I did 2 ecards last night..one for $1000 and 1 for $800..I had to do separate transactions but they went thru and I applied them this morning with no trouble AND I got the promo ecards last night also.

I purchased a cruise while on a cruise and then had a TA assigned. I would assume that I would buy the Promotional Gift Cards using the Carnival Web Site and then submit the E-mail papers to the TA. The TA would then pay Carnival for my cruise. Normally, Carnival won't handle any thing with you directly once you have a TA. On the other hand, per the Carnival gift card documentation, you can pay Carnival directly with the gift cards. Any one else have this issue?

I did an ecard for $500 yesterday. At first I had the same problem. Do not enter the $ sign. Can't remember but may need to only enter 500. Try without the $ sign and no decimal.

I bought an additional $700 today, this time using the e-card option. It worked perfectly and now I have enough to fully cover our Cheers program on Legend's repositioning cruise. I was going to cancel our steakhouse reservation rather than pay another $70, but now that's covered with the promotional gift card. :)

If you get the promotional gift card via email, how do you then apply this to your sail and sign account? Do you bring a printout of the email & code for them to redeem at check-in/guest services or do you apply it to your sail & sign account on carnival's website before sailing?

If the e-gift card comes without a pin (as many are saying here) how are you able to apply it to account when on board?

thanks

YOu can't apply a gift card to your s&s ahead of time. No matter ecard or plastic. Take it to guest services when you board or redeem it at the account kiosks around the ship. I believe most every ship has kiosks now. That's what I've been repeatedly advised to do by folks that have done it. You shouldn't need a pin to have it applied to your account, but if you do, all of my egift card print outs show a pin# right on it. When you get the email, click on the gift card link.

Has everyone who ordered the ecards gotten the promo card the same day as well? I ordered cards today via 4 transactions and have not gotten the promo cards. I called the 800 number to make sure I did everything correctly and the man told me they would be sent within 10 days?

I have a question...I just purchased a card for $200 and it came immediately...I was going to go ahead and pay it on my cruise - I have a friend going with me - I want to just apply the amount to my cruise.....and the cabin is in my name .... is there anyway for me to do that online or will Carnival have to process the card for me since there are 2 of us in the cabin with different accounts? I was so use to do everything with just me and my husband in the cabin ...... and since he died with a heart attack 9 months ago today ... I am having to learn how to do things with other people and different accounts........

Should have expounded on the office depot thing...buy them with your carnival card/cashback card (freedom/discover) or airline mileage card and use the amex gift cards on board to pay your balance down...get the points/cash back and still pay less than face value of the gift cards. I had to spend $10,000 in two months on my new AA black card to get 100,000 frequent flyer miles (first class ticket to Europe)..was $900 shy and this did it for me. Now going on cruise from Europe next year and the air will cost $250 rt in First Class from LA instead of $8,000. Taking Celebrity otherwise would have bought these Carnival gift cards...might buy the carnival card though for my September Valor cruise to pay tips and on board charges.

I found this thread very interesting. I'm happy for everyone that can take advantage of this offer. We normally cruise RCCL and I haven't seen any sale like this on their web site. darn. Maybe they will see this and follow suit. Enjoy

Does anyone know if you can apply a partial amount of the gift card to your S&S account, either via the Kiosk or Guest Services. Meaning, can I buy a $500 GC and ask them to apply $300?

Also, any reason this would not cover tips?

From what I understand you would put the whole amount on your account, if any was left over it would be credited back to the card - they don't expire so you could use it for the next cruise .- just make sure you use the promotional card first.

I got smaller amounts just so if by chance I get some price drop OBC :D:D I can just use enough of the gift card to pay off my sign and sail at the end of the cruise.

I see no reason why ANY charges to your sign and sail wouldn't be eligible to be paid off by the gift card .

okay so you can't put more than $1,000 on 1 gift card, right? I thought it was flaking out on me.

I'm not a big fan of paying for things before I need to, but receiving a discount/bonus is good.

Only owe $399 on November cruise (and cruise buddy owes 1/2). But I have a large balance for October 2015 Bermuda. I'll have to think about buying some to apply to that one.

I actually have enough credit card points on my Visa to redeem for a $200 Carnival voucher. Here's what I think I'll do, though. I'll redeem those points for $200 cash and use the cash to pay for off the $200 I just charged to my card (for which I earn more cc points), then apply the gift card to the balance on my November cruise.

This way, I not only have $20 to spend, but I earn more credit card points and the gift card is (sort of) free.

That $20 won't go very far, though, so I may buy another $200 card to cover tips and part of a wine package. :D

Can I use the promotional gift card to apply it towards my balance of my cruise? Or is it only for on board? I bought a gift card yesterday and it worked fine towards my balance. Got the promotional one this morning and it says 0 balance. So just wondering.

I thought gift cards were non-refundable like Cruise Cash and Casino Cash meaning if you put a $200 on your sail and sign account and only spend $150, that you do not get the $50 back?

Not sure if the gift cards are non-refundable but you can just buy chips from the gift card at the casino and cash out without playing if that's the case. Easy solution. :)
