Carnival Gift Card - 10% Bonus Offer

Recommended Posts

Bought two egiftcards last night (it wouldn't let me order more than one per transaction). I didn't mind doing two separate transactions, one for $1000 and one for $700. Received both instantly via email, but had a zero balance when I went to check to pay off my cruise. Waited until this morning and had no problem using them. Bonus egiftcards came this morning and had the balance already loaded to them. I plan on using my free $170 to enjoy one or two frozen fruity beverages on board :D

Glad to hear this worked out for you, because I'm having the same problem. Ordered one and used it no problem; bought a second card and keep getting a "zero balance" message when I try to use it. I'll wait another day before contacting guest services; hopefully mine will go through eventually like yours did.

How long does it take the promotional g.c. to come through to your email? I bought the regular e gift card and it came through instantly.

For me, it took 21 hours to get the promo gift card after I ordered the regular one.

Just bought 2 and got immediate emails. Went to Carnival and paid on both cruises. Gift cards were good right then. :D Did this at 5am.....maybe that's the difference. Only we night owls and early birds on here this time of day. Now wait and see about the 10% gift cards.

Good luck all!

We cruise in August. We booked Early Saver and we were required to have the cruise paid in full by now.

I was considering figuring out what TIPS would be for our family of 6 and getting a gift card in that amount to apply to our sail and sign accounts. Same thing with the cheers beverage program... if I purchase that amount and in advance apply the gift card to my sail and sign account...I shouldn't have any problems - should I?

No one saw any small print regarding not being able to apply the gift cards towards tips or the "CHEERS BEVERAGE PROGRAM" Have they?

I phoned Carnival and got passed around to 4 different reps. The woman who answered in gift cards said that she had limited information and could not answer the question if the cards were valid for alcohol purchases. The fourth and final woman tried to be helpful but just reread from the frequently asked questions page. I went ahead and bought what I thought I would need anyway. If they are not valid for Tips and or the Cheers program - then I guess I will just have to be forced to plan another cruise. :)

I just saw a thread saying Canadians cannot purchase these?? Maybe that is my issue...hmmm... Any Canadians able to purchase?

No...not the case. I made 2 purchase already. Received my confirmation today.

Yep. Or apply the card to your S&S acct, charge money to the acct from a slot machine and then cash out. I'm going to do just that if I happen to have any left over.

That is my plan, I purchased $500, it's just me going and will spend them in a few days. I plan on putting the $550 on my SS account and using it to support my gambling. I consider it a 10% bonus on my gambling.

Now here is my experience buying the gift card. I ordered the $500, never got the email. waited until the next day, nothing. Yes I check my spam folder, nothing. I called twice, first the male said they sent it, but he says, I see it's not opened (the $500 e-card) We verify that the email is correct. I guess he opened the email that they "sent" He told me to wait. I call back and speak to another rep. she looks at the email and tells me I got it because it's been read. I try my hardest to explain I did not get it. She then emails me the cert. number but no pin. She said just bring the email with me. I ask about the bonus of $50, she tells me that will be there in days. I tell her that is not what I have read. It appears to me that if I purchased a plastic card it would take up to 10 days. Around mid night I get two emails both have the bonus card number and pin. Both emails were for the bonus only. Any how I printed all of them.

Now my guess is maybe my AOL email blocked the first one, or it was just lost in cyber space.

I'll let everyome know how it went next weekend when applied these to my SS card when I get back, assuming I remember!

Hmmm....seems this gets overly confused...how about this....The gift cards, once you are onboard can be applied to your onboard Sign and Sail account..so obviously a $500 gift card can be = $500 on S&S account. At that point anything that is purchased, which is just about everything onboard, is taken off your S&S balance. So Cheers...auto-tips..steakhouse...FunShops...all those purchases are made with S&S account/card onboard. So, S&S account funded with gift cards pays for it all.

I bought mine yesterday @ 9:40 am and immediately received the confirmation email. Received the actual e-card about a minute later.

Received THREE emails with the bonus e-card - two at midnight and one at 5 am. I was hoping they'd messed up and sent me three different ones, but they all have the same card number and pin. Darn! I thought I might FINALLY get a gift from Carnival, since the player's club seems to hate me and never sends me any free or discounted offers, no matter how much I spend in the casino! :o

I may buy another one or maybe up to $500, but I absolutely am NOT going to buy $$$$ of these things. I'm just not going to pay off my Bermuda cruise 13 months early just to get $100 bonus. It's against my principles. ;) Besides, if I had a spare $1,000, I'd put it in my retirement plan or my HSA.

And if I had so much that I could fully fund both of those things, I probably wouldn't be sailing Carnival anyway! :p

I just bought the e gift card last night and used it to payoff my cruise (which was due the end of this month anyway) and got 10% ecard to take with me to apply to my SS card onboard. So , Carnival Paid me for paying off my cruise, that I had to do anyway! Love it! AND I used my Carnival MasterCard to Pay for the gift card so I got double reward points for that too!!! So prior to Sailing on the Breeze in September I will do a statement credit and hopefully by then I will have another $200-$300 to use on that too! Double BAM!! I pay my Credit card off monthly so no interest and ALL reward points !!!!

Let me see if I understand all this. I will buy a gift card to pay off my balance on my already booked cruise. I then will get a gift card for 10% of that amount. Can I put that gift card on my S & S card to be used for on board purchases? But not for tips and the cheers program.

No I tried ,you cant. I even called only way is to take the balance onboard , she told me you could use them at the kiosk though or at guest services.

Thanks for the answer, Steve, even if it wasn't the one I wanted! ;)

Does anyone have experience using giftcards towards casino and/or the Cheers program. These are our biggest expenses on the cruise and I want to be sure that I can use them towards these before purchasing.

I used gift cards to put on my S&S acct in Feb on the Fascination and was able to use funds for everything, tips, casino, drinks and photos.

I did have some funds left over on the last day and just transferred to my players account in the casino and cashed out so I could get me money back.

I had the cards applied at the service desk.

Got a question, I'm planning to buy the gift cards so I can get the 10% bonus and I want to use them to pay the balance on my cruise coming up in a few months. How do I do that if my cruise was booked by a travel agent? Can I apply my gift cards or ecard to my balance myself online.

I booked a last minute cruise a week ago and I just used the e-card to pay for my shore excursions via the Carnival website. There is a small box above Payment Information asking for the gc #.

Now I'm waiting on my bonus email. Then I'll call Carnival and apply both of the cards to my S&S account.

Bought one for 1000 to pay off partially cruise that is due in July. Received card in a minute. Still waiting on the promo but just did it this morning. I think I will buy another to completely pay off cruise. It's just too good a deal to get 10% off my cruise!!!

Seems like an easy way to get 10% off on our next cruise; we need two cabins so I'll buy gift cards for my DW's cabin and use the 10% cards for mine. :)

Just completed the order for our April 4 sailing on Carnival Liberty. Paid for one cabin and have 10% on the way to me to pay on the other cabin and once it's all in the system I'll call and apply the 25% off from our Carnival Pride sailing :D I used our Carnival MasterCard so I'll get double points too; not enough for OBC, but by then I'm sure I'll rack up plenty.

Just bought $2500 worth of gift cards. so got an extra $250 plus I used my Carnival MasterCard and that gave me an additional $50 for a total of $300!!!

That will pay for a lot of drinks!!

What's the deal with the mastercard? I just signed up for one but I haven't received it yet. I'm going to order gift cards also.

Will it be fine to use the gift card for 2 different cabin accounts? I plan to order $600 but I'm wondering if I should order 2 cards at $300 each since we have 2 cabins booked.
