sail7seas Posted June 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Now that HAL seems to have changed the pricing plans for internet minutes, what happened to the Five Star 50% discount off 100 minute packages?
SilvertoGold Posted June 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Missed this. Would you mind explaining? Thanks a lot!
RuthC Posted June 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2014 I still got it on my recent Oosterdam cruise. As a matter of fact, I was able to get the 50% of 100 minute plan amount deducted from a 250 minute plan when I wanted the larger plan. SilvertoGold, one of the perqs of 5* Mariner status is 50% off the price of a 100 minute Internet plan. If there are two people in the cabin, then each person gets the discount. Rare POA1 Posted June 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2014 I think the new pricing was a Zuiderdam experiment. According to FrankC, it wasn't even every week on the Z.

That was my impression too even though (I think) he heard otherwise during the cruise. Hal, right hand meet left hand.

Rare POA1 Posted June 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2014 I would hope / imagine that they will adjust the 5 star perk if they roll out the test plan fleet wide.

sail7seas Posted June 11, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted June 11, 2014 We each got our 50% off the 100 minute plan on our last cruises without any problems. I got the discount off a 250 minute package. I was pleasantly surprised as I expected they would say it only applied if we bought a 100 minute package.

I was pleasantly surprised as I expected they would say it only applied if we bought a 100 minute package. I had inquired about getting a discount off the 250 minute package back in November when we were on the Nieuw Amsterdam and was told "no" -- just the 100 minute package. Didn't even bother asking this last cruise. I only needed to keep in touch with our stock broker and CPA so really didn't need a lot of minutes. If you watch the stock market, you will be happy to hear that on our recent AK cruise they had CNBC as one of the TV stations. DaveOKC

It's actually in this thread, also started by FrankC: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2040412 To save you some reading, here's the summary -- and remember that this is for a 7 day cruise: $9.99 per hour (continuous only) $34.99 per day (24 hours) $149.99 Voyage Rate (7 days)

I knew I missed something. The cruise I was on when this was posted had the old internet and pricing system and the internet was alternately miserable and very fast. Is this new pricing system meant for the new-and-improved Harris system? Edited June 11, 2014 by SilvertoGold
