You can see food porn from 150 in my review, Just click on the link below ENJOY
OCruisers Posted June 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2014 You do not have to get the wine pairing and can order whatever wine you wish without a problem. :) LuLu
akcruz Posted June 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2014 The servings are small, but there are many courses. I do not remember how many but enough to fill you without being stuffed like in some other specialty restaurants. All alcohol drinks are extra unless you have the drinks package, although even some of those are excluded and must be paid for such as the cucumber martini. All alcohol drinks are extra unless you have the drinks package, although even some of those are excluded and must be paid for such as the cucumber martini. The martinis are not specifically excluded. You have to pay the difference ($3 or $5, I forget), because they're over the $12 for the package. You also will get 20% off your wine pairing if you have the package, same as a bottle. That happened on our cruise on June 1 on the Allure, and others have reported it as well. While the portion sizes are small, you can get pretty full -- it is a lot of courses. The food is fantastic though, I think it is well worth it, and I've enjoyed the wine pairing as well. It is a great experience overall.

The waiter will look at you a bit funny, but don't let it bother you. The wines in 150 are much nicer than anything on the Wine Package, but also fairly pricey. We like nice wine. We can not drink the amount per course, so we split a wine pairing. If you are happy with a "half pour" (about 2 oz each) then it is a nice way to go. You will be charged for one pairing ($75) but they will bring a "half pour" in each glass. We actually found it to be a perfect amount. I'm not really sure they were actually half pours. But when you have 5 glasses of wine, it's quite a bit. I will say we did Chef's Table, and that includes a wine pairing. It is really nice to have a designated wine to enhance your meal. CP3o Posted May 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2015 Is there a wine list by glass for 150 Central? Is there "better" wine available there by glass than in bars and MDR? And you just pay the difference over $12 with wine or cocktails (premium and ultimate package)? What do the martini's run there now? No place excluded from the drink package, but would need to pay the difference over 12? Thanks.

gatour Posted May 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I wasn't aware of the 20% off if you have the package. I was leaning towards the pairing, just so I could try wines that I don't normally have. This is icing on the cake. The martinis are not specifically excluded. You have to pay the difference ($3 or $5, I forget), because they're over the $12 for the package. CP3o Posted May 15, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2015 Is there a menu showing wines offered by glass? Is there only one martini served? I saw a recipe on Gumbee's site. Is the cucumber martini still $17 and so would pay $5 more to get it with the plan? If I go, I think I'd like to try the martini, but think after that the pairing would be too much drinking and better to maybe order two nice glasses or wine, one red and one white and pair them as best I can with the menu served. Is 150 Central a very slow dinner? I'm trying to decide if I could handle it solo or drag a teen boy with me (probably not worth it).

It has been 1.5 to 2 hours for us each time, but I think they would speed things up if you asked. We did it with two boys, 15 and 17, and did not have any problems, but they are foodies like us and enjoy trying new things.

Is it too classy of a joint to bring a drink in with you? I'd be ordering some with dinner too, but it might be nice to use a diamond voucher and get a drink from a bar beforehand. IF I get a drink package, it will be for last 4 days of cruise so wouldn't have started that yet. I wonder if they would let me use bogo Diamond coupon on a glass of wine at 150 Central? CP3o Posted May 16, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 16, 2015 I just discovered corkage fees have been removed and now MDR doesn't frown on bringing your own bottle. I'm SHOCKED, that's a pretty nice deal! What about specialty restaurants and bringing your own bottle? Is it against the rules or just frowned upon............ or maybe not even frowned upon?
