wickedhangover Posted July 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2014 inside info/gossip call it what you will, but ratings are apparently down on the ships with it and they have suspended the roll out. am I the first to talk about it? I've been away from the boards a little but but now that I'm within 200 days of my next cruise I'm back :)
wickedhangover Posted July 11, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted July 11, 2014 I might add that at this point they kind of don't know what to do. I'd like to see them go back to the menus from 2004, I miss duck breast night, goat cheese tartlets and 2-3 different salads to pick from each night. SadieN Posted July 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2014 That's a shame because I liked a lot of the new items. Especially the noodle dish that was a very good pho'.
bury me at sea Posted July 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2014 I hope that is true. I really like the old menu items.
Linda the Book Lover Posted July 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2014 We leave in a few days but I don't care what the menu is as there is always something good to eat. ;) I am of course a nosy posy and want to know how you came upon the information and if if it was from a reliable/verified source. Jimmy Geegitz Posted July 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2014 You would think they change the menu every couple of years anyway. At least one or 2 items.
EZ4 Posted July 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2014 thanks very helpful Rumors gotta start somewhere. ;) And CC has a pretty good batting average as far as rumors coming true. :)
momof4boys Posted July 11, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Loved our menus from 2005 and 2006. Our food on the Freedom in 2012 was ok....but liked the earlier menus better! (Real steak any night, etc.) On the DREAM two weeks ago, there were 2 nights that our group had some trouble deciding what to have. Flat iron steak gets old & definitely don't really cruise for meat loaf or friend chicken. One lunch on the Lido (maybe Saturday...?) they served Veal Parmesan that was fabulous! Actually better than several main dishes we had. Our food was served hot each night with table clothes on the tables, but quality of the food has definitely declined. I know the cost of cruising hasn't really risen but the cutbacks in food are so noticeable!

If it's posted here, obviously it will never happen. Didn't someone comment that to anyone who asked a company representative for more information about the balcony smoking policy changes before it was confirmed? Sillyjilly Posted July 11, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Bummer! I loved the new menus and I booked another cruise hoping to have them again.
loxley Posted July 11, 2014 #17 Share Posted July 11, 2014 True, but I meant the ratings were down portion of his/her statement. It doesn't take a genius to figure out something did not pan out or the new menus would be on all the ships by now.
Disconnections Posted July 12, 2014 #18 Share Posted July 12, 2014 LOL. And John Heald was the last to know. Once again. I guess Carnival Beerleader should be adding his input to the American Table rollout discussion soon.
winddawn Posted July 12, 2014 #19 Share Posted July 12, 2014 The last thing official I read was a post on John Heald's blog dated April 29th: "The American Table menu is currently being served on the Carnival Glory, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Inspiration and Carnival Imagination. And in June we will serve it on Carnival Freedom as well." http://johnhealdsblog.com/2014/04/29/wash-and-dry/#more-21619
golfadj Posted July 12, 2014 #20 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We have experienced it twice. on Glory with no tablecloths in Feb and thought it was very good. Than two weeks ago on Liberty with tablecloths and food took forever and not as hot as usual. Thought the problem on Liberty was the headwaiter had two assistants who were incompetent at bringing food back. Will be sorry if they discontinue it as we liked the changes. andy.capitan Posted July 12, 2014 #21 Share Posted July 12, 2014 I call it "Yet Another False Rumor (YAFR). There never has been an official schedule. 2004 isn't going to happen again. There was no WCMC, Bitter and Blanc, or many other creations by George Blanc, and even he has since moved on.

wickedhangover Posted July 12, 2014 Author #23 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Source long time friends with a maitre'd, rather not say which. This person was moved to a ship to implement and was told the program was suspended for deployment. It's reliable.
wickedhangover Posted July 12, 2014 Author #24 Share Posted July 12, 2014 True, but I meant the ratings were down portion of his/her statement. The ratings have been decreasing on the Liberty, Imagination and Inspiration. This is in reference to the polls that you get via email after the cruise, not feedback while onboard. Freedom will not see this get deployed. It was supposed to go out this week. again, my sources are good, about as good as you'll get. But I can understand my post count being on the low side somehow makes me unreliable. That's cool. I've no reason to stir the pot and start rumors here. Beth Posted July 12, 2014 #25 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Does this mean the ships with the new menus will go back to the old menus? Hope so we will be on the Liberty in 6 weeks and was not looking forward to the new menus.
