Bottle of Wine Given in Concerige Class

From my experience, they leave you a bottle of Celebrity champagne on embarkation day. I've heard that you can ask in advance for a bottle of red or white wine but have never personally tried it. Enjoy your cruise!

Just wondering if it can be exchanged for a different bottle of wine:confused:. Not to sound as if we don't appreciate it, but it's just now to our liking:(.

Like you, it is not to our liking either. A few times we gave it to someone else. Last time we were on the Equinox, we went to Customer Service and told the staff we wanted a different wine we liked, exchanged X's wine and paid the difference. They had to check on the value of X wine to determine how much to charge us, it was not a big difference. We did this on a slow port day. They agreed, delivered the wine we requested to our cabin and charged our onboard acct the difference.

We have found that it all depends on who you ask and how you ask. It is also not really to our liking, but not bad with orange juice in the morning as mimosas. We have, on several occasions, been able to switch for a bottle of wine. If not, we give it to friends we meet on board.

When we were in a suite, we asked the butler to exchange it.

When in aqua or concierge, we asked the sommelier in the dining room to exchange it.

Never a problem either way.

When the new bottle we selected cost more than the sparkling wine, we were charged the difference.

We've exchanged for red or white wine on many occasions. If you want the bottle of wine for your room, ask your room steward for the exchange. You can ask for red or white, but can't typically choose a specific wine. If you want to request the replacement wine to have with your dinner, exchange it with your sommelier in the dining room. He/she will let you choose from the menu and will identify wines of similar cost. When we've selected a higher level wine we were billed the difference. I believe the sommelier can also arrange for a traded bottle of wine to be sent to your room, but we haven't done this.

I have never been successful when trying to exchange the sparkling wine for regular wine.

Next time ask someone else. Go to customer service, they will take care of it. We actually selected a specific wine on the wine menu to replace it with and paid the difference.

We normally sail in two cabins and they normally give us a second bottle per cabin. So we normally have 4 bottles to drink.....

One time we asked the Guest Relations Manager about exchanging the champagne and he said it was against Celebrity policy, but for us he would do it.

We now get the free Premium beverage package on every cruise (Zenith), so we don't need a bottle of cheap wine any more than a bottle of cheap champagne.....
