I was just getting ready to buy some electronic gift cards and it seemed like they were going to snail mail them. There was no request for an email address to be emailed to. I'm cruising next week, so they won't arrive in time if they are snail mailed. I'm thinking they will be emailed but not sure. Can someone please confirm they will be emailed.

If you do thee gift card you will have the card number in a matter of minutes. You don't even have to wait for the email. Just go you "my accounts" and the card will be in your basket.. There is a "gift certificate" (don't buy theses) and thee card- you will instant access to those. Hope this helps. It does ask for you mailing address but just continue the checkout process.

Thanks so much Beachgal for responding to me.

I am pretty sure he told me he tried the "Carnival Gift Card" option on the website but I will send him this info just in case!

I used $1000 for onboard credit in August on the Dream and was planning on paying off next year's Pride sailing off this way. Maybe I still can!

Thanks again!!

Well...I was right, he did use the "Carnival Gift Card" option on the drop down. When he submits it, he gets the response:

INDV $100.00Rejected

N/A

THE CREDIT/GIFT CARD PROVIDED IS NOT SUPPORTED

Of course I took out my friend's booking number.

Not sure what is going on. He is going to try the card on a consumer booking to see if it is a problem with the e-card numbers. There are actually five at $100 and he gets the same error on each one.

Really weird!!!!

To use on your account you have to wait until you are onboard. They have surreal different brands of gift cards as well not just Carnival.

Do anyone know if you buy carnival cruise dollars from verzion ...... can you use it for obc and can call carnival and put it on your account
I was told to buy the gift cards not certificates or cruise dollars. I was able to pay off my cruise and friends of mine have added to their obc. You have to do that when you get on the ship.It is my understanding that certificates and cruise dollars are only his for paying for a cruise. Edited by lindyf

I purchased nine $100 "eGift Cards". They have a card number and a PIN number. "Expiration: NONE". I called my TA to have them applied to my final payment, and she said she could not do it without an expiration date. She then called Carnival and talked to an employee there, and her manager, and they both said they needed an expiration date to apply the cards. Based on the success stories I have read here on CC with the eGift cards, I know it can be done. Anyone have any suggestions for what I need to do or tell my TA?

(By the way, my online TA is touted as being the Carnival's "Agency of the Year", so they should have some expertise with Carnival).

That's weird as they do not have an expiration date.

I called mine in and they never asked for a date. Also when I went to my booking page to enter them in it never asked for it either.

Hoping someone on here can help you.

Copy and send this to your agent. This is what I do...

1. The agent should go into goccl and open up the reservation.

2. Click on "Payment" then "Make Payment"

3. Under the drop down menu 'Payment type' select Carnival gift card"

I've had no problem applying these on a multitude of bookings. However

Good luck!

bambilin, were you ever able to use your cards?

No Beachgal, my friends have not been applied.

That is exactly what he did and he received the error message I posted. No luck at all with any of the dozens of Carnival folks he spoke to. Very odd because he applied my $500 but had no luck with hers, even after he gave them my booking number to review.

Not sure what is going on.

YES! It finally worked. I called the TA back and explained the situation again, and that others had used the eGift cards successfully, and that Carnival's website states the eGift cards do not have an expiration. The agent said they would look into it further. Another one of their agents called me back. She said she could do it, but she had to do it over the phone with Carnival. According to her, Carnival had to apply it to the booking.

So happy that it all worked out!

I just wanted to know if any one has paid for part of their cruise with one of the e-gift cards that was bought through the Verizon Rewards and then had to cancel. Do they give you an e-gift card/gift card for portion that was paid with the gift cards?

Bought 2 $500 e-gift cards today and 5 minutes later applied as payment with no issues. We used goccl.com since my mother-in-law is my agent. Just signed in and applied as pmt. Also realized that the price on an ocean suite is actually cheaper than my aft wrap so in the process of deciding whether we want to move or not  Pros and cons to both.

Can I apply the egift cards to use in the casino? Does Carnival charge a fee if you use your sail and sign card in the casino ?

If you withdraw funds from your sail and sign via the slot machines (download to your player bank) there is no fee. If you withdraw funds at any of the tables there is a 3% fee. So better to download funds to your players bank then cash out at the cage to avoid the 3% fee.

I just signed up for this yesterday...quick question, and forgive my ignorance on the issue, but what is the difference between Cruise Dollars and eGift Cards?

I still owe a bit over 1500 on my upcoming cruise this June, so I was going to buy 3 $500 amounts to save myself about $150.
