mom23guys Posted September 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Just booked a mini on Royal because we wanted a bigger room with a sofa and bigger bathroom. Are there any perks that come with a mini suite/ Different line on embarkation, anything? TIA

waltd Posted September 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Just a bit bigger cabin. But for a longer trip we felt it was worth it.

ar1950 Posted September 7, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 7, 2014 Supposed to get better quality towels. Yay!?!? Better quality towels?? We didn't get anything different as far as towels on our Star cruise last year. The extra space was nice.
Working 2 Cruise Posted September 7, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2014 So, after all these answers, no, you don't qualify for priority embarkation. Only full suites do, along with a host of other perks, but then fares are so much more expensive than mini-suites..

StormTight Posted September 8, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Concur with Happiness as to the couch inclusion. That's where you will experience the added sq. ft. and comfort The balcony cabins only offer a single lounge chair, while the mini-suite offers the couch (queen-size sleeper) and a lounge chair. That is really nice if you want to snuggle and read, talk, or watch TV (on the second TV), and not have to sit on your bed to do so. We've enjoyed the bath / shower combo, not so much as to using the bath portion, but as to the additional space in taking showers. The shower-only could be a "tight fit" for us big & tall folk! LoriPhil Posted September 8, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) We like the additional storage space you get with the unit the sitting room tv sits on - nice to have those extra shelves. Haven't sailed the Royal yet, so don't know if that configuration is still in place. Edited September 8, 2014 by LoriPhil
as19111 Posted September 8, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 8, 2014 We love the mini suite for the extra cabin space and especially the larger bathroom. That said, on our Royal sailing, we are trying the deluxe balcony. It includes a sofa, and we enjoy that seating area on the mini for reading and room service. Don't know what we will think of it until we sail next June!

Don't know what we will think of it until we sail next June! We also opted for the deluxe balcony on the Royal. It was great having a seating area. We found it to be a good compromise; getting more room while avoiding the higher rates for the mini.
jamscckmc Posted September 9, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 9, 2014 That' s one thing that most of the other cruise lines have over Princess, they have a sofa in every balcony room. RC even has sofas in the interior and ocean view rooms.
4x4bob Posted September 9, 2014 #17 Share Posted September 9, 2014 And, not mentioned yet. You have a chance, small but a chance, to be upgraded to a full suite. Don't forget to put out a lolly pop for the upgrade fairy. If this does not happen, then you put out the wrong flavor.:D Bob
seacruise9 Posted September 9, 2014 #18 Share Posted September 9, 2014 Hi, We had a mini-suite on the new Regal Princess in June and greatly enjoyed it. We were originally booked in a standard balcony stateroom, but we received an offer a few weeks prior to the cruise to upgrade to a mini-suite for a very reasonable price. Besides the additional space inside the stateroom, our room had one of the angled balconies under the SeaWalk that was significantly larger than a standard balcony. LoriPhil Posted January 5, 2015 #20 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Yes - they are the standard "waffle" robes that are available in all cabins.
JF - retired RRT Posted January 5, 2015 #21 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Are robes included in mini-suites? Request in the Personalizer. Don't be surprised if they don't fit.
OnVacation11 Posted January 5, 2015 #22 Share Posted January 5, 2015 We were upgraded to a mini on our Royal Christmas cruise. This was our 1st mini and we enjoyed the larger bathroom the most. The extra space was also nice when 2 people are getting ready in the morning and before dinner. The small balcony was crammed with furniture (2 chairs, 2 foot rests and large table) making it difficult to more around.
vinoblanco Posted January 5, 2015 #23 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Yes - they are the standard "waffle" robes that are available in all cabins. This time on Coral, our steward brought us big fluffy, ribbed bathrobes and matching towels. So much nicer than waffle. Of course he got a Christmas prezzie. Talisker92 Posted January 5, 2015 #25 Share Posted January 5, 2015 We opted for the minisuite on our B2B South American cruise. In our trip story, at the beginning, I included pictures of both the balcony and mini suite to give a comparison. http://stevekathytravels.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/southamerica2014.pdf It was well worth it on a 31 day cruise!
