Wilde_37 Posted September 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I have a large amount of on-board credit on an upcoming cruise. I cannot see how I am going to spend it all as I also have specialty restaurant vouchers and a drinks package. Is there a way of getting some of this back as cash? I have heard of people getting it through the casino but I'm not familiar with how this might be done. Has anyone managed to find a way of doing this? Thanks. WestLakeGirl Posted September 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Withdraw as cash from the casino, the fee will be 5% If it is refundable OBC it will go back onto your credit card The will use your non refundable first so if you have both kinds just withdraw the non refundable in the casino

So I should just go into the casino and ask to withdraw an amount against my sea-pass card. They will give me the amount but charge me a 5% commission. Better than leaving it behind then! Thanks :D
DYKWIA Posted September 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2014 If they do allow you to play it in the casino what's to stop you putting it all in a fruit machine in one go, playing 1c worth, and then pressing cash out and cashing in the voucher? Just off the eclipse and i don't think I've come across machines playing so tightly.
Doctor G Posted September 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I have gotten money at the casino from OBC several times. Just go to the window and ask for a specific amount of cash. You do not need to spend any of the money in the casino. And yes, they charge 5%. As you said, better than losing the OBC. Carolyn
kevinyork Posted September 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 23, 2014 We cashed out our considerable OBC on our May Eclipse cruise using the Casino. I do agree with DYKWYA that the slots were terrible at paying out, in fact they NEVER paid out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
DYKWIA Posted September 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2014
.... the slots were terrible at paying out, in fact they NEVER paid out. ...
We spent $200 over the 2 weeks in the casino, putting $20 a time in the machines - I don't think we ever got our tally above $24 before whittling it down to zero. The machines reportedly paid out $250,000 in the two weeks, I guess that is made up of A LOT of $2 wins which are then replayed and lost.
mickey89 Posted September 23, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Last October I had over $500 refunded as cash from Guest Relations on the Reflection, all the obc was a gift from the T/A. If it is a bonus/perk from Celebrity you will need to try your luck as other have suggested by withdrawing against your Shipboard account in the Casino, you maybe lucky.
