tomatosauce Posted October 5, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 5, 2014 If you really serious about it you can get 4 foot remote control copy of the Explorer of the Seas for just under $7,000 at http://rcscalemodelstore.com/ships-and-boats/rtr-4-ft-long-radio-control-explorer-of-the-seas-cruise-ship-boat/. pspercy Posted December 20, 2014 #29 Share Posted December 20, 2014 How do the Cruise ship models look they sell onboard? And can you get them in different scales? I am interested in the Splendour Of The Seas the most. Thanks, This guy built his own:) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1531861

LXA350 Posted December 21, 2014 #31 Share Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) That's the ship model of the Legend of the Seas sold on board in 1998... quality went down big time. I would be even willing to pay USD 100 if it would be a realistic model of good quality, but those things they sell now are just sooooo bad. jwitt2 Posted December 24, 2014 #35 Share Posted December 24, 2014 They are not models. Just plaster miniature replicas. We bought a few of them. It was ok when they were $24 a few years ago. Last cruise I think they were $39 or something stupidly high. And they are now smaller. in size That was the end of that collection... This is pretty much what my husband has said. He has a whole fleet of ships in his bookcase. Most of them are ceramic or china. When we went on our most recent cruise, Royal Princess, he refused to pay $39 or whatever and bought what was probably a Christmas ornament instead. It was solid, nor hollow. You can’t buy them on the ship but earn them by getting 140 C&A points and every 70 after - you can get them on eBay for $20-500.
