My mother-in-law wears capris for most nights except formal night, and no one has ever batted an eye about it. Janis
Cruising Golfer Posted September 30, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Formal Nights are a thing of the past. If you like to dress up then do it, if not you won't be out of place... You would not believe what some people wear in the MDR...

caribsun Posted October 1, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) Amazes me when people say it ruins their vacation when other people dress down. Why does anyone care? The way men dress in the MDR does not ruin my vacation but it can be unappealing. On my last Carnival cruise on casual nights there was a gentleman at the next table who wore athletic tees that expose a little too much back and arm pit hair. Edited October 1, 2014 by caribsun

travel girl23 Posted October 2, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 2, 2014 Can I wear dressy capris in the MDR? I have several nice dresses for the formal night. I appreciate your comments. Since you mention that you have dresses for elegant night(s), I am assuming that you are asking about the remaining nights. I was just on the Legend a month ago and capris were popular in the dining room. Yes, they were nice capris and the ladies all looked very nice. However, on elegant night I did not see any capris. I did see long dressy pants and lovely dresses ranging from Sunday dresses to pageant formals. Also, I did see very fancy flip flops or rather, dressy sandals (very sparkly) with dressy pants and dresses. (Not the kind you pick up at the drug store for swimming). I hope this helps. Have a wonderful cruise.
cruiseelady Posted October 2, 2014 #20 Share Posted October 2, 2014 Can I wear dressy capris in the MDR? I have several nice dresses for the formal night. I appreciate your comments. You absolutely may. You might ever stand out with dressy capris as too dressy, as now a days if its not a formal night, people are super casual. I actually love it that way.
