icsys Posted October 22, 2014 #226 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Hi. Are you aware of whether the corkage fee on bring your own wine is still being charged in the MDR? RCI,s official Facebook and Twitter pages suggest the fee has been abolished with immediate effect. We are sailing on Allure in three weeks and it would be good to know if the policy change has made it to the ships. Thanks.
Tennessee_Cruiser Posted October 22, 2014 #227 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Wow! Thanks for allowing us to virtually enjoy your cruise. Have you seen pricing for wifi for 7 night cruise? Royal Caribbean has said they "plan" on making wifi less expensive; hope it's true! :D
Smiley4 Posted October 22, 2014 #228 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Kcjarvis, Have you entered the new VIP room in the casino? If so, what games are contained within? How many tables of each are there? What are the limits? Who's allowed to enter that room? Where exactly is it located? Do they serve food in there? Any,photos would be great too. Thanks

RJAYL Posted October 22, 2014 #230 Share Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Trendy shower I don't remember the shower being there on the Allure, if not this a good addition as a way to cool down, a Jacuzzi would have been nice too !!! Sad about no more Concierge Lounge on deck 11!:( Edited October 22, 2014 by RJAYL

Royal Caribbean has said they "plan" on making wifi less expensive; hope it's true! :D We are also on this ship now. The. 7 day package is $139., less whatever discounts you might have. The wifi is awful. Very slow. In fact, the only good thing about this cruise is the entertainment. From boarding on, it has not been good.

sergeant655 Posted October 22, 2014 #233 Share Posted October 22, 2014 The Coastal Kitchen manager said only people in a "proper" suite will be allowed. (JS not allowed) That is odd that junior suites will be allowed to dine in Coastal Kitchen on Quantum but not Oasis. Celebrity will have a suites only restaurant on all of thier ships that will be open to sky suites and above. A sky suite is a Junior suite . Coastal kitchen should allow junior suites in on all the ships that have it. not just

There are significantly more suites on Oasis (especially if you include Junior Suites) than Quantum. And the CK space on Oasis just won't be able to handle the load of adding the JS's, but it does appear as if the CK space on Quantum could. Can't comment on the suite only restaurant on X, as I haven't seen yet where they will put it.
MindyJohn Posted October 22, 2014 #235 Share Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Thanks for taking us along with you. If you get a chance I'd love to see pics of the new aft GS balconies. I know the cabins are "under construction" but any info you can find/see is greatly appreciated. :) Hi Sue. Ken's doing a great job reporting all the latest. As you know we're next to the construction area where they're building GS 11330. Here are a few pix. The main takeaway is they've got lots more to do. In the first (and last, sorry) photo, deck 11 is where you see the worker. Edited October 22, 2014 by MindyJohn

Can't comment on the suite only restaurant on X, as I haven't seen yet where they will put it. It is not odd at all when you consider the context you just provided, but I'm quite confident that it will cause significant confusion among RC guests who are not as intense and plugged in as all of us on CC. I can hear it already: "But we were just on Quantum in a JS and ate in Coastal Kitchen several nights. Now you're telling me [on Oasis] that I cannot eat there!?!??!? I did not realize that when I booked, give me on board credit!!!" Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app

Royal Caribbean has been promoting the internet upgrades on Oasis class (as well as Quantum class) as able to stream Netflix, Skype with friends, etc. Maybe the upgraded speeds aren't online yet? I hope that's true. Have you been to Jazz on 4? Always enjoyed listened to Jazz at night. Hope the cruise turns around for you!

ILuvCruisin' Posted October 22, 2014 #239 Share Posted October 22, 2014 We retraced our steps and headed back home to Lady O. Ask we scanned our Sea Pass cards guess what happened....More Alarms!!!!! This time the "kind" security guard said we were being denied boarding and actually expected us to leave the ship. OK THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!! I have had it now - in a full New York attitude I told him to get on this radio and/or phone to engage the appropriate people, to get this sorted out. We were not leaving to ship. It took over an hour to resolve it. Finally, back on the ship and now in our room, it was time for sail away. It was the most amazing sail away due to the narrow harbor, the moored sail boat obstacles and the fog. Sorry for all of your troubles...I am looking forward to reading further hoping things improved greatly... these are my fav shots so far...sooooo BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for the live review...greatly appreciated...

ILuvCruisin' Posted October 22, 2014 #241 Share Posted October 22, 2014 After more Tapas and stopping for some bottles of water, we were back on board. All of Vigo turned out to see us off. It was the most amazing thing we have seen through all of our years of cruising Good bye Vigo So are people jut not use to seeing cruise ships or they were just very hospitable? are you all used to these ports or you just researched where you wanted to go...you seem very knowledgeable about the public transportation in each port and very specific about what you are getting off the ship to see... thoroughly enjoying your review... Kcjarvis Posted October 22, 2014 Author #244 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Slot Pull - We had 180 players on 2 machines. . Karen and Bill did a great job organizing the event. There were a number of prizes given out. We all received $11 dollars at the end and if you had zero points from your 5 spins, Karen and Bill were able to get the Casino manager to give us our own slot tournament. ILuvCruisin' Posted October 22, 2014 #250 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Sorry missed it. Not to much info, but rumors have said Wonderland will be on the upstairs portion of the CL. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app My understanding is that Wonderland will be in the place of the Library and will be instead of the Chef's table. It will be one of those "Element" type meals where you choose an element and it is associated with a specific dish. I picture the drinks wiht the smoke coming out ot them and such.
