What can Royal Caribbean's OBC be used for?

What can Royal Caribbean's OBC be used for? Can it be used to pay tips?

Can it be used to pay for shore excursions that are booked online before the cruise?

 

We use our Princess OBC's for tips and for excursions. But last month we sailed Carnival and discovered that we had to pay for any excursions booked in advance at the time of booking, so using OBC was not an option for those. Now I'm wondering how Royal Caribbean's OBC works, as we have an RCI cruise coming up next September.

Tips - yes, if paid for on board, if you pre-pay tips before the trip, no

Excursions pre trip - no, you'll need to pay for these at the time of booking

Yes it can be used for tips. It can be used for anything purchased ONBOARD. If you purchase shore excursions in advance your will have to pay for them at that time

The only thing that comes to mind that you cannot use OBC for is booking a cruise onboard.

A few that come to mind, but have to be paid on-board, not in advance. There have been other good ones suggested already.

Yes
