mom22tinks Posted November 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2014 So, my husband lost his suit. Who does that??!? I've checked with the dry cleaners... Checked all our closets... Nothing. Yet, he still has his dress up shoes! Ughh lol.....ok rant over. So, we cruise in a few weeks and he has been working major overtime. I just don't foresee him being able to get anther suit in time for formal night. Do you think he can get away with dress pants, dress shirt and a tie for formal night? I'd really rather not miss out on the lobster :) any thoughts?
TeresaJ Posted November 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Yes, he will be just fine. I've seen people dress in less formal than that on elegant night. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Forums mobile app
susie8862 Posted November 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Thank you for my morning laugh. Attire of slacks, shirt and tie is perfectly fine since Carnival does not have formal nights anymore. Elegant (lol) is what they call it. Have seen jeans and tee shirts on elegant night. He will be fine. HAVE A GREAT CRUISE :)
MURCOTT Posted November 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2014 He can even skip the tie and would still be fine.

rferr Posted November 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) He could wear khakis and a button down. Most people not even in ties. I am cruising in a few weeks and I am not even taking a tie. Edited November 14, 2014 by rferr

Havingfun2010 Posted November 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Carnival passengers believe that anything goes, including dress up night. It's become a joke. So where what he wants. However, you can buy suits for $150.00. Eventually he will need one.
KevInPitt Posted November 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Whatever you do, don't miss that lobster! I personally would put on a dress and high heels if that's what it took.
CanadianDee Posted November 14, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2014 My hubby would like to lose his suit. Perhaps I should hide it until our next cruise LOL. This is exactly what I thought when I read the OP. It hasn't occurred to him to "lose" his suit yet.
riffatsea Posted November 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 14, 2014 My husband hasn't worn a suit since the day he retired from work which was over 10 years ago!! You and your husband will be just fine if he never finds another one!! Go and enjoy your cruise!
keywest1 Posted November 14, 2014 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I'm glad DH doesn't read these forums or I definitely think there would be a lost suit in his future, too :D
joeyancho Posted November 14, 2014 #17 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Are you kidding? On Carnival he could just wear the shoes and he would be allowed in the dining room.

So, yes dress pants are totally fine. Pair them with a dress shirt and tie and he will be fine!!
