No Quest on Quantum

Agreed. I'm really starting to wonder about our Anthem 12-nighter... I will consider other options if this is truly indicative of the Quantum Class entertainment experience. I hope RCI will read the early comments and step up their game in the interim... Especially with all those sea days...

You should think twice about Anthem. The daytime entertainment falls short on Wow. While Quantum is a beautiful ship that doesn't make up for the other problems we encountered. I truly was disappointed with the experience.:(

This thread reminds me of when Oasis came out, a few people telling everyone on cc that they won't do/that, rethink this/that, no one cared then. O/A have sailed full and 2 more are being built. Q/A will do the same, sail full and the few will just slip to page 2 as they did before.:p

No Karaoke either? Were you on the 8 day? We had none of these activities on the 11/21 sailing but I chalked that up to it being a short sailing. This is extremely disappointing.

Yes, We were on the 8 day and no karaoke. Last night they held the battle of the sexes game, the Music hall was packed, and there were lots of laughs. What does it take to keep doing these popular games/shows? 2 cruise staff people? Bring plenty of books unless you consider spa treatments, shopping and the casino as activities for 3 consecutive sea days. Oh, and endless trivia.

Folks, are we sure Ken Rush is actually on board working behind the scenes? This simply doesn't sound like a Ken Rush ship. Like his style or not, he's the consummate professional CD who has been running top notch entertainment programs on top notch RCI ships for over a decade... This just doesn't sound like a Ken Rush entertainment program at all. I'm really surprised.

Ken was nowhere to be seen on our sailing.

Jimmy Rhodes was a great as a host during events, however just as on our Explorer sailings with him, there was a definite lack of activities and entertainment which was present on Explorer under different CDs.

We were bummed that there was no Love and Marriage show on our Brilliance trip last week. There was a Quest but it was in a packed Colony room and instead of small 10 person teams the whole room was divided into 5 teams. Probably 30 or more people per team. Obviously, not the same kind of interaction. The quests were tamer than the last time I saw it too.

I just got back in Nov. from the Liberty 22 days and wouldn't go back. They under staffed it so badly it was pitiful. The windjammer had lots of empty tables that went uncleaned so people couldn't find a place to sit and eat. They ran out of simple things like lemons and used limes instead. Tea with lime doesn't work :(

The long lines made it impossible to go to guest services and when you called them it rang forever. Ordering morning coffee from room service at 9 AM was met with an hour wait.

These mega ships don't work for me. Liberty was the biggest ship I'd ever been on. I will seek out smaller ships.

There were a couple of Karaoke sessions on the 23rd sailing. They were calling it Rock-arokie or something like that. Karaoke to rock music only I suppose.

Rock-a-Rokie on Jewel a few years back was karaoke accompanied by one of the ship's bands. It was a great show - the band's singer would do the backup and whoever was up had great support.

I just posted a Liberty review and one of the things that bothered me was no Quest (and there was no L&M either). I just happened to be standing next to the CD one night and asked about it. He said they could not offer it on the Liberty 4 day and one of the 5 day itineraries. He gave me a long explanation that with all of the other events Royal wants him to staff and schedule (and host), he is unable to offer it (or L&M) and fit it into the schedule. He said he wishes he could.

It does seem like they are now phasing out lots of things.

"Quantum of the Seas was designed to WOW". I can see how 😧

I'm not sure about this but I heard Ken Rush is the cruise director. Based on his fake personality he will be more than happy not to do the guest ImageUploadedByForums1417502595.040403.jpg.cf48a24d3f5f92dd342b9f2609328139.jpg

Jimmy Rhodes is the CD on Quantum. I'd much rather have Ken Rush, personally.

Just off the Nov. 23rd Inaugural (what a joke) and I knew as soon as I saw the venues that there would be no Quest. The Music Hall wasn't big enough for our Meet and Mingle. Guests were sitting outside the venue and standing in the doorways.

270 was great for relaxing during the day but for Starwater the seating was not optimum. High backed sofas blocked the view of the performance which for lack of a better word partially down in a pit. If you don't get there extremely early and grab the lowest or highest seats you are just out of luck. We arrived a half hour early and all the good seating was gone. Royal, please take another look at your design before completing Anthem.

I hate high backed chairs that they have in some lounges and extra charge restaurants. Too many people's heads against them and no way to really clean them. I have never seen them with changible head rest material on them. I never sit in one.

I've noticed the Quest has really been toned "down" quite a bit the last few years. I wonder if there were so many complaints that they decided it's served its purpose and no longer is needed? I attended the Quest on NCL earlier this year, about 3 weeks after I had been on Allure of the Seas. I much preferred the smaller ships with the 8-10 people teams vs. the whole "section" in Studio B. NCL was set up in the old fashion..and the Quests were "FUN"! But then again, they have not had it for so many years where it is getting old for some folks.

I will miss it, nonetheless.

Love and Marriage surprises me a little, but again..I have noticed a sharp decline of people going to this. It used to be held in the theatre on ships and lately I've seen it in the smaller lounges with less attendance. I don't know...again, it is a staple I've always enjoyed.

No Karaoke?! While I'm not a fan, it seems that is an EASY activity and one that a lot of people enjoy attending. Makes little sense to me why they would remove that. I remember on Allure they held it in the On Air club and it would be SO PACKED, you couldn't get in to the place.

I can see them replacing with a new fun inventive game show, but it doesn't sound like that is the case. Battle of the Sexes? Really? That game has always been a dud, imo.

FWIW, I was not a fan of Ken Rush on Allure of the Seas. It wouldn't surprise me if he is making the decisions on the phase out of Quest and Love and Marriage. Maybe he's just tired of them?

NCL has had it longer than you think. We did it 2007 I believe. Also did a version of it on Holland way back in 1992

DH will be so happy to hear no Quest on Quantum for our January cruise. The Quest on Allure three years ago was so raunchy, and Ken Rush's videotaping made it not funny - just gross, and really humiliating for some of the participants (or should have been). DH got really upset with it. Sorry to hear L&M gone - that was pretty funny.

Why? RCI doesn't force anyone to attend just about any activity of the ship other than the muster drill.

He didn't go the following year on Oasis. If they're not doing Quest, then perhaps there will be other activities planned during what would be the time slot. Or who knows with Quantum?

Maybe the Allure one was grosser than usual, but some of the videos bordered on porno, and it was hard to believe that these young girls would lift their skirts up to show bare buttocks (or thongs, as the case may be). It's one thing to do a quick flash, but now with videotaping, when you've got a bare butt up on a giant screen in Studio B, it's just crude.

Last year on the Navigator in the Mediterranean we went to a Quest that nearly erupted into a fist fight when one Team Captain tried to drag a girl in the audience into the game and her boyfriend was having none of it. It was not a good scene.

I've been to some good Quests but overall I think it's a tired out old show and I'm not surprised they opted not to have it on Quantum.

There are plenty of other activities to attend during the Quest on Oasis and Allure, which I know because I haven't attended a Quest in years (got bored of it). I do know that the event is billed as adults only for a reason. Anyone who is likely to be offended by adults only content should avail themselves of other entertainment, as your husband wisely did on Oasis. That does not mean that the show should be censored though, IMHO, so long as everyone is physically safe and compliant with the staff's instructions.

...said perfectly!!

Taking away Quest and Love & Marriage is shameful and events that I know my hubby and I look forward to on each cruise.

Last month on the Oasis all activities seems normal and where there... was it because the 'O' Class ships have the space/crew/pax??...Sure there was your trivia, but it wasn't the only thing going on.

Curious to those on Quantum...was there still a 70's party??

And why did you stay the whole show ?

Btw the participant can say no at any time during the guest. I have never seen one not fighting ages for his team 😊

Who says he did? Can't believe I'm getting flamed for being glad there's no Quest. I also don't believe that all people participating would expect to see their naked butts up on a giant screen, but whatever. Frankly, I thought Quest was funny. My husband didn't like it. Our friends love it. Whatever.

As for the 70s party on Quantum, my understanding is that this is now an 80s party, so clearly they're going after a younger demographic.
